Casey's POV...
Ive lived my whole life dealing with the portals and what they've created, the monsters of our nightmares. Trying to keep me and my sister safe and alive. My mom and dad died trying to save us from one of the monsters... Everything I've ever known is the living hell I'm in right now! The hell I could never escape... And know, there's a glimmer of hope. This recording. I could close the portals forever, I could free our world from this. I had to get back to Gina, I had to tell her about this tape! It could be our last chance.
-in the hideout-
"Gina! Gina!! You'll never guess what I found!"
"Please tell me it's food. We haven't eaten in a long time Casey..."
"It's not food. It's something better! I was searching for something to eat or drink when I came across this tape... Gina.. The man who created the portals. He left this for someone to find. For someone to close the portals."
She didn't say anything. Instead she started laughing. Why was she laughing! Does she not understand how amazing this is.
"Wow Casey nice try. I'm not falling for another one of your ridiculous pranks"
"I'm not joking! Just listen.."
I played the recording for her and as soon as it was over she just gave me this look of excitement mixed with utter confuse net. We sat in silence for awhile, waiting for her to say something... Waiting to see if she believed me...Finally she spoke.
"ok. I'm in, What are we supposed to do?
"Wait! Your in?"
"Ya you didn't think I'd let you do this by yourself did you?"
"but mom and dad said I was supposed to protect you and keep you safe..."
"what better way then to go with you!"
"well um, ok then. But where are we supposed to go? I've never heard of a 'freezing' chamber before."
I inspected the recorder and saw that the tape said 'side one'. I opened and flipped the tape around to reveal the second side. Wow this is ancient. I pressed play and waited.
"I see you have accepted your role and are ready to start. Before you can begin this quest you must go back to the tree in which you found this, there is a hole right above the carving of "Jay+Kelsy" it will open a secret door which will lead you to a room. It has food and water and weapons waiting to help you on your journey. To open this you must open the back of this recorder, between the battery's there will be a thin key. It will open it for you. There you will find part of the map which will lead you to me. I must make sure you are strong enough first, you must face three tasks to find me. You may begin."
