The strength to believe

Chapter 14

Kurama slashed at zabuza, and zabuza blocked it with his own. Kurama then ducked underneath a slash, and stabbed at his face. His sword drew a thin line of blood, but zabuza jumped back before it could do anymore damage.

Kuramas sword kept glowing brighter, until it was too bright to look at and zabuza winced, closing his eyes.

Kurama took that chance and slashed at his stomach, getting a direct hit, but not a fatal one.

"KUrama watch out!" he heard kakashi yell, and turn around just in time to see a water clone about to decapitate him.

He dodges, and is about to destroy the clone when the real zabuza slashes his back. He winced in pain as he backed off a few steps.

"Kurama!" Sakura screamed. He faintly heard kakashi gasp and sasuke hiss in slight sympathy.

Then, zabuza charged at him. Kurama tried to bring his hands up to block, but couldn't. The amount of blood he had lost had made him woozy, and all he could do was watch in horror as the blage neared his face.

But the blow never came.

Someone had defended him.

It was a girl, with a mask one just like his own. Her hair was long and gold, and she wore standard anbu unifrom.

She had stopped the blage from hitting him just in time, by catching it with her hands.

Then she lunged forward, sending a flurry of attacks at zabuza, arms moving so fast they looked like a blur.

But zabuza was good too, and his sword made contact with her face... er.... mask.

There was a sharp cracking sound as shards of broken clay fell to the ground, and the girl skidded back a few steps, before landing on her butt next to kurama, who gasped when he saw her.

(FlashbacK)

"No! S-sister where are you going??" 4 year old Naruto cried, clutching his sister desperately around the waist.

6 year old naruko gently pried him off her, giving him a gentle smile. "i'm going and i'm not coming back, i have a purpose, you need to find yours! By the time i'm back... i want to see that you have become a ninja!" And with that she left, leaving a broken crying 4 year old alone, and they would never meet again, not for 8 years.

(Flashback end)
