There once was a girl who lived in Town, not just in a town, a town called Town. She worked in the candy store every day, watching young children run in and out, buying sweets. Damn little kids. The girl mumbled cleaning up yet another mess of Pop Rocks a kid had proceeded to spill earlier. Her honey blonde hair, tied back in a pony tail, was yanked on just as she turned to walk behind the counter again. A deep guffaw followed her yelp of pain. "Dammit Jethro!" She screeched.

Jethro is the typical gingy, bright red hair, pale freckle covered skin and absolutely no soul whatsoever. Well, maybe he had a soul, but he didn't act like it around people he didn't like.

"Hey squirrel-friend!" Jethro beamed in a bit of a high pitched tone. Yes, in case you were wondering, Jethro is a grade-A homosexual. So naturally, they were best friends. The blonde glared at him with her hazel gaze.

"Was that really necessary Jathro?" She inquired in a ghetto voice while snapping her fingers in a 'z' formation. Jethro rolled his eyes and grabbed a sucker from the jar on the counter. Opening the sucker he jumped up onto the counter and stuck it in his mouth.

"So," Jethro started. She took a bottle of ice tea from under the counter where she had a secret fridge. She began to gulp it down. "Are you and Perry banging yet?" The blonde did a spit take and all of the liquid landed on Jethro. He gasped and ran to the workroom looking for paper towels. "EW YOU CRAZY BITCH!" He screamed.

"THAT COMMENT WAS TOTALLY IRRELEVANT!" She shot back at the ginger.

"That's what the government wants you to think." Jethro said, not batting an eyelash. Walking out of the workroom dabbing his shirt with a towel. "Shut up." she mumbled.

"Speak of the devil" Jethro said looking past her. Turning her head she immediately blushed a light pink. "Shit" she whispered.

His soft cocoa gaze swept around the candy shop until it met with hers. He quickly snapped his head back and wandered down one of the many isles. Perry's whitish blonde hair was done up in a small quiff (or a ski jump if you prefer.) Jethro nudged the blonde's shoulder and wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. The girl punched her friend in the arm.

"OW, YOU BITCH!" Jethro screeched and jumped off the counter, running to the workroom. Perry laughed walking up to the counter with a box of Skittles.

"I see you're having fun." he said. The girl stared at him a moment then shook her head, to clear it. "Um, yeah, Skittles, you want to buy, um, Skittles, that would be three dollars... Please" She mumbled like an idiot.

He chuckled and handed her the money. She turned to put the money in the cash register when suddenly, she hit her pinky toe on the corner of a hella heavy box full of candy. Her hazel eyes went wide and she drop the money in her hand as if it had burned her. "AH SON OF A FUCK!" Perry burst out laughing and had to grip the counter so he wouldn't fall to the ground.

The blonde glared at her crush. "SHUT YOUR FACE YOU FUCKTARD! I'M FUCKING DYING HERE YOU BITCH ASS HOE!"

This only made him laugh harder, falling to the floor and curling into a ball. Suddenly he wasn't laughing anymore and he stood up with a red face. "So, um, do you like, um, have a..."

Suddenly, Jethro was standing behind Perry, definitely staring at his butt. "Dude, I think you peed yourself." Jethro said.

Perry jumped, turning around. His face was so red it was almost worrying. She tried her best to hide her laughter. Jethro walked up to the embarrassed blonde boy and walked him into the backroom. "Don't worry kind sir, I have a spare pair in my work bag." As soon as the door swung shut behind them, the hazel eyed girl broke down into a fit of laughter. Some customers came in and looked at her weird but continued on browsing.

Finally realizing that she had yet to put Perry's money into the cash register, she picked up the now crumpled dollar bills and stuffed them into the register. Looking up at the clock, she realized her shift was over and her replacement was coming in any minute. She silently took off her apron that the candy shop workers were required to wear, completely forgetting about Perry and Jethro.

Still oblivious to the fact her crush and best friend were in the backroom, she casually strolled in to get her workbag. The blonde pushed the door open and felt her face heat up. Perry was standing there, in the process of pulling up his replacement pair of jeans. The brown-eyed boy was ignorant of the girl standing in front of him and carried on with his task at hand.

After buckling his belt, Perry looked up and saw the Hazel-eyed girl he had secretly been crushing on standing there with wide eyes and a face as red as a tomato.

"Well, aren't you two just having a lovely day?" Jethro said, standing there looking amused. He walked out of the backroom to man the counter.

"So..." Perry started. The girl smiled faintly, then the boy smiled and they both burst into laughter. After a few moments they sobered up and stood there in a calm silence.

"I was wondering, is your shift over?" Perry asked. "Uhh, yeah?" she answered.

"So, um, would you, like, maybe wanna go watch that new movie that just came out?" He shifted from foot to foot nervously.

"Like, with you?" She asked. "Yeah! I mean if you want to." he stuttered. Smiling, she nodded her head. "Just checking." she said, gaining back a bit of her confidence.

As the couple was walking out of the shop, Jethro cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted at his friend, "GET SOME!" The blonde haired girl turned and winked at the ginger before walking out of the little candy shop with her new found prince charming.
