Mikala's POV
I paced back and forth outside of Garroth's guest room door. I was worried sick about him and I barely even know him.
I saw a girl with orange hair and red eyes come out of the room. She wore a white dress and a black witch hat.
"Hello." I said.
"Hi, I'm Lucinda, who are you?" the girl said.
"I'm Mikala, Lord Aphmau's sister..." I said.
"That's cool. I'm a witch... well half witch. I'm here helping Garroth. Are you here to check on him for Aphmau?" Lucinda said.
"Umm, no," I said, "but I'll tell her how he's doing when she gets back."
"That's a great idea. He's inside, go on in." Lucinda replied. I nodded and walked in.
"Aphmau?" I heard a deep voice say.
"N-no, my name is Mikala, Aphmau's...sister." I said. I was always hesatent to say sister.
"O-oh w-were i-is A-aphmau." Garroth said.
"She's with Laurence." I said quietly.
"O-oh." he sighed.
"How are you feeling?" I asked him.
"G-good I g-guess." he replied. His face was red.
"Are you sure? Your face is rather...red." I said and giggled.
"Ahem, yes I'm sure." he said. All the sudden I felt a chill through my whole body and the last thing I heard was Garroth yelling for Lucinda.3 hours later
I woke up on a bed and my head was resting on Garroth's chest. I was shocked, why was he under me. I blushed and just layed there.
"Lucinda! I want to know if my sister and guard are ok!" I heard my sister yell.
"Aphmau, I don't know yet!" Lucinda's voice yell back.
"Mommy, why are y'all yelling? Your scaring Levin." I heard a young voice cry.
"I'm sorry Malachi. Mommy's little sister blacked out randomly last night and I want to know she's ok." Aphmau said.
"Aphmau, I'm fine." I thought. I felt a small groan under me and I looked towards Garroth's face. His diamond blue eyes were wide open and his face was red.
"U-uhh." Garroth mumbled. I looked away from his face and blushed. Then the door opened. Laurence and Aphmau enter the room.
"A-aww. Aren't you two cute!?" my sister yelled.
"A-aphmau!?" Garroth yelled. His face remained red but was now full of alarm. I felt him shift his arm that was lying on me.
"H-hi b-big s-sister." I stuttered. I felt my face warm up.
"I think Garroth and Mikala like each other." Laurence laughed.
"W-what?! L-Laurence that's s-silly!" Garroth yelled.
"Stop hiding it. What's the point?" I said jokingly and smiled.
"I-i'm not hiding anything!" Garroth said.
"Yea...I soo believe that." I said. He smiled and laughed.
"I-i guess y-you g-got me." He said quietly.
"You want to go on that picnic with me now?" Laurence asked Aphmau.
"Sure, lets go prepare the food." Aphmau said and they left the room.
"S-so do y-you really l-like me?" I said as we both sat up. He laughed nervously.
"K-kinda I mean..." He started but a stopped him by kissing him. I felt him smile.
"I love you." I said quietly.
"And I love you." he replied. We sat there in silence until the door opened.
"How are y'all doing?" Lucinda the witch said.
"I think we are both fine." I said.
"That's good. Umm Garroth drink this and in about a hour you should be able to walk again." Lucinda said, tossed him a bottle, and left the room. He drank the contents.
"Mikala, when I'm more or less healed, wanna go for a walk around the village and meet some of the villagers. I know there are two people who would be glad to see you." Garroth said.
"I-i'd love to." I said. We sat there for a while and I guess I fell asleep.
"M-Mikala w-wake up." I heard a voice sat. I slightly opened my eye and saw Garroth's diamond blue eyes.
"Hmm?" I said. I didn't realise how close Garroth was to me, so when I rose up I ran into him.
"Gah!" he exclaimed.
"Oh my Irene, I'm so sorry." I said. He laughed.
"Mikala , you really think that hurt. I'm a guard, I four a cute little kitty like you can beat me." Garroth laughed.
I growled and left the room, slamming the door behind me. I went to the basement and locked the doors. I sat on a bed they had sat up for me until they finish my room. I felt a tear run down my cheek.
"How dare he insult me. I could easily beat him. I've fought dozens of bandits and.." I lowered my voice, "the monster inside of me."
I started to cry and I hated what I was. I heard a knock on the doors. I ignored it until they started pounding on the door.
"Who..is..it!?" I yelled, tears still dripping from my eyes. I watched the door open and Garroth step through putting away a key.
"Mikala, I'm so sorry. I never meant to hurt you." he said and he hugged me. I wanted to pull away but my body wouldn't let me.
"I-its ok G-garroth." I cried. I burried my head in his chest an sobbed. I wasn't mad at him, I was mad at myself and what I was deep down.
"What's wrong my little kitten?" Garroth said.
"Nothing you would be able to help with. I need to talk to somebody different." I said quietly.
"What about Laurence? He's different, erm hes a shadow knight." Garroth told me.
"Sh-Shadow kn-knight!?" I exclaimed. Yes he sounds like somebody I could talk to.
"Yes. Hey, wanna go on that walk now?" he said kindly.
"S-sure." I said. He took my hand and led me outside.
