In Seasons

In Spring,

the fauna has awakened.

Nature has bloomed

and in our garden,

I find myself embracing you.

You tease me with pecks on my cheek

while I whisper soft words of romance in to your ear.

All the while,

I gently pluck a hibiscus

and place it in your hair

Our hearts have been defrosted

after the harsh winter's solstice

but I don't want to think about the yesterdays

where we said things that hurt

and wore smiles that were fake.

You took your photographs

and I drew my pictures.

Preserving the memory

for us to remember

The way I push you on a swing

makes me realize,

the love rekindled

and a moment like this,

could only come during Spring.

The Summer sun

Breaks through the clouds

as our secrets,

fall straight to the ground.

All the days we spent in bed

just watching TV

and all the nights

where we barely got any sleep.

Under the blankets,

it's like I'm in a different world

with you

and you alone.

The way the sparks fly,

the way my eyes can see directly into yours

makes missing life and spending all my time with you,

a thing worth fighting for.

I love it when our faces touch

and against each other,

our skin rubs.

As we lay awake,

your head rests

upon my chest.

Thinking how lucky I am

to call you mine,

I kiss you on your scalp

and I whisper 'good night'

No matter how many times you eat all our ice-cream

off the cone when I'm not looking.

No matter how many times you push me in the pool.
