Chapter 2:

“Bro, is she alright?” asked a voice

“Yeah she’ll be fine, just let her rest it out, she got hit pretty hard.” replied a deeper more masculine voice.

“Okay then, thanks heaps Tony” said the first voice

“All good bro, it’s my job.” Tony said, that name rings a bell...

I heard some shuffling around and a door open and close, I guess someone left. I directed my attention toward the small sigh that I heard escaping from a person’s lips. I then took this time to try my best to pry my eyes open, slowly I managed to get my eyes open, but immediately shut them because of how light the room was lit up. It took me some time and some internal grunts to finally adjust my eyes to the brightness of the room.

I looked across the room and saw my older brother Geo with his back facing me. I was taken by fright as his phone went off playing the most annoying ringtone he could find on his phone, I still remember the memories we had when me and Deigo set that on his phone.

Geo pulled his phone out of his pocket and answered his phone, I listened in closely.

“Hey man.”

“Yeah she’s fine, how’s Cody?”

“Crap that’s not too good, I guess he’s not used to it huh?”

“Don’t worry, I will do it”

“Na I can’t, I’ve got to be here when she wakes up”

“Okay yeah I’ll call you when she does”

“Cool alright, yeah I’ll see you later, bye.”

Geo hung up his phone and placed it back into his pocket, I wonder what that conversation was about?

I took this time to tell Geo that I’m awake by making a dramatic groan and pretend that the bitch of a light hurt my eyes.

My brother turned around and saw me rubbing my eyes, he practically ran the small space between him and the bed that I was placed in and took hold of my hand.

“Are you alright Alana?” he rushed out

I smiled my noticeably fake smile and replied

“Just dandy.”

He sighed

“Well you got beaten up pretty hard, 3 broken ribs, fractured hip bone and bruises in places bruises aren’t meant to be.”

I rolled my eyes and tried my best to block the increasing pain coming from my stomach.

“Shit, that is a lot of damage, what happened to Cody?” I asked in a croaky voice.

Geo held a smug yet concerned facial expression

“Cody’s in a light coma, he suffered multiple head injures, bruised stomach, dislocated shoulder and heaps of bruises as well.” He replied

I sighed

“It took all of this to finally kick his ass; damn I can’t even believe it” I smirked in satisfaction, but immediately restrained myself as my ribs were aching with pain.

Geo laughed lightly and smiled down at me.

“That’s 100% correct little sis, finally after all these months of hard core training, you managed to bring our very own king to his knees.” I laughed at the cheesiness “How do you feel Alana?”

I thought for a while, and then said;

“Very sore, tired, the list could go on, but at the same time I feel like I climbed Mt Everest and back without even breaking a sweat, you know? The victorious feeling in your gut when you’ve achieved something big, yeah I feel like that”

“Well you should feel that, cause it took god knows how long…?” he laughed and ruffled my hair.

“Too long” I laughed “Hey, where are we?” I asked looking around the plain white walls for some clue to find out where I am.

“Well your in Division’s infirmary, Tony took care of you; free of charge.” My brother replied

“Tony…?” I questioned him, still wondering who this Tony guy is.

“Oh! Tony, he takes care of any of our families injuries, he’s a fully qualified docterand a close family friend.” Geo informed me.

“Hmm…” I thought for a while, then it was just like a light bulb popped up and turned on over my head “Ooh! The guy that gave me a pink coloured cast for my arm instead of a blue one, when I was 14?” I grumbled remembering what happened that day.

I just got out of the ring from fighting a not so good fighter that didn’t know the rules well enough to be in the ring to start off with, thought it would be funny if she knocked me off my feet then helped me up from the ground but at the last minute, stood on my arm which caused me to fracture and break a couple of bones throughout my right arm.

I knocked her out when I got my cast off; she hasn’t come back to division since that day.

Geo laughed

“Yeah that’s the one Lana, he’s 24 now and back when I was fighting, he helped a lot with my injuries.”

“I remember that, he told me that he had a little crush on Willow last time I saw him.” I smirked

Geo raised his eyebrow with a questionable look in his eye

“And how’d you get that out of him? He’s like rock hard material, defiantly hard to crack.”

I smiled soaking in all of the smugness I’m getting out of this.

“Well I kind of forced it out of him”

I remembered that day crystal clear, that time when I had Tony pinned up against the wall, various vases and plates smashed on the ground, but I didn’t care back then, Tony’s feet were a good 2 inches off the ground and he was trembling like a baby.

I snickered, those were the good times I had back a couple of years ago, when I still had that stupid pink cast on; I’m never going to forgive him for that.

“I don’t even want to know, judging by that evil glint in your eyes” Geo said

I laughed

“So, when am I going to get out of this shit hole?”

I questioned him.

“As soon as Tony comes back with some forms” he replied

“Aw great I’ve got to look at him” I whined “Where are the twins?” I asked curiously

“They’re at school, where I should be, but I ditched for you” Geo winked at me, I rolled my eyes. Just then Tony walked in holding some papers. He looked up at me and smirked, which I returned with a good old glare.

“Well it seems like you’ve woken up and are pretty familiar with what’s going on, right Lana?” he asked

“Yep pretty much, when can I leave?” I demanded”

Tony laughed

“As soon as I’ve finished checking up on your ribs, hip bone, and put a fresh bandage around your torso.” He answered

“Well then can you make it snappy, I hate this place, I want to get out of this dump as fast as I can” I exclaimed

Both Tony and Geo laughed at my eagerness. My brother then stepped back and let Tony do what he had to do. He poked my stomach and felt around my ribs to see if they were healing in the right places. After a lot of tests and shifting around in a very uncomfortable hospital bed, I was finally able to leave.

I was given a note from Tony, explaining to my gym teacher that I won’t be able to participate for the next month, so I can let my ribs heal properly.

I was then released from division’s infirmary and allowed to finally go home.
