Chapter 1: Rapunzel
"Jack? Where are you?" I called as I searched the building. I entered another room and saw him sat on the window sill. "Jack are you alright? You ran off so suddenly."
He sighed. "It's this whole Guardian thing. I mean, they're all, deadlines and, seriousness. I'm snowball fights and snow days," he explained, his face downcast.
I sat on the other end of the ledge. "Jack, I don't mean to sound rude, but you have no idea what it means to be a Guardian do you? It's not about the serious side. Sure, the Big Four don't work in the field anymore, but that's because they don't want to let those children down. Being a Guardian, it means you will do everything in your power to help those children, no matter what. It could be something small, like stopping a nightmare, or it could be a Christmas present that will save their life in the future. How, could anyone not want that?" I asked quietly.
I looked away as I felt Jack's curious gaze fix on me. "How do you know so much about this anyway?" He asked, raising a suspious eyebrow.
I sighed. "Look Jack, I have been training a long time to be a Guardian, I thought when the Moon said he was choosing someone new it could be me. If you say no to this, you're passing up the chance of a lifetime."
"I'm sorry, I didn't know. But it's not me just being stupid or stubborn with this decision, it's just me being... Me."
I laughed. "That took cheesy to a new level" I joked before sighing again. "A long time ago we spoke, and I told you I definitely have strong feelings for you, I just haven't decided whether they're positive or negative yet."
"Said Annebeth to Percy Jackson."
"You've read those too?"
"You know, for someone your age, you seem a lot older."
"And how old do you think I am?"
"Um, more than eighteen?" He guessed and I laughed.
"You've known me all this time then you say that? Yes and no." He looked at me confused.
"Well, when I became eighteen, I stopped aging." I explained.
"Like most of us, but how old are you?"
"297 in three days." I answered. The look on his face was only there for a bit but was priceless.
"Well that's weird..." He muttered.
"It's not like you're any younger."
"That's my point, we have the same birthday."
This hit me like a sledge hammer.
"Hey Blondie, are you okay?"
I nodded and stood up. "Excuse me a minute, I need to go and talk to someone..."

I burst into Santa's office.
"Okay, what even?!" I exclaimed.
"You may have to be more specific." He said calmly.
I walked up to his side. "You know that prophecy? The one about the children of the Moon and Sun? And how they're born on the same day?" I hissed in his ear.
He looked up at me. "I was forbidden from knowing all of it and you were forbidden from telling all of it. What is this about?"
"Jack Frost was born on the same day as me. The exact; same; day. And you of all people know that part of the prophecy, once they meet, pitch black shall cover the world."
North looked up at me. "Where is he? Is he alone?"
"I left him in the blue room a few minutes ago..."
"Let's move." Grabbing his swords he ran from the room, me hot on his heels. We burst into the room, but Jack was gone. "No, no..." North whispered.
"What? Where is he?" I asked looking around.
"I don't know, but this is bad. Rapunzel, this is now more dangerous for you than ever, you know what'll happen if he gets you too. Just stay in your room for now, I have some work to do."
I nodded and left, worried filling my mind to the extent that I didn't notice the shadow in the corner of the room flickering...

Jack:
I looked around in confusion. I wasn't inside anymore, in fact I was out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by snow.
"Hello Jack."
I turned to see Pitch Black, holding a small golden container. "What do you want Pitch?" I asked, instantly on the defense.
"You never where the most courteous of people where you Jack? Well since you're in such a hurry I'll cut to the chase. These are your memories Jack. From your old life, before you were Jack Frost."
"And what would you want in return?" I asked suspicious.
"You. Join me Jack, and you will never be unseen again! After all, what goes better than cold with darkness? The children of this world shall see us again and-"
"No." I cut him off. "They would fear us. I don't want that Pitch, goodbye." I began to walk away.
"Oh Jack, are you leaving so soon? Your little friend here didn't get her kiss goodbye..."
I looked back to see Rapunzel. She was gagged and chained to the ice sheet behind her.
"Pitch! Release her now!" I yelled at him.
"Your staff Jack! Hand it over, and I'll let her go."
Rapunzel was screaming through her gag, but I couldn't make out what she was saying. I knew I couldn't just let him keep her.
"Fine." I agreed quietly, and was reaching out to give my staff when I was hit with black sand.
I landed in a dark room, hard. My head groggy I looked around but it was too dark.
"Oh Jack... I'd hoped you were smarter than that." Pitch's voice muttered disappointed.
I spun round looking for him, but he was nowhere to be seen. A sharp pain stabbed through my head.
"Sweet dreams Jack... I'll be eagerly waiting for your... Transformation."
That's when everything went black.
