Not a love confession

Sixth period ended.
You were packing up your things. You see a shadow on your desk. You look up into a pair of slanted eyes.
"Hey you ready?" Erik asks.
"Y-yeah, one minute" you say as you look back down and finish packing your things.
There you go again, STOP STUTTERING (Y/N)! You mentally tell yourself.
Both of you exit the classroom.
"I'll show y-you where the library is first." You say without looking at him.
He nods and follows you.
Slowly but surely, you two introduce yourselves. You both talk about Erik's old school and other stuff while you show him around.
I'm surprised that there are no girls around. Whatever I'm glad they aren't here. You think as you two stopped in front of the school.
"You jealous?" Erik asks, smirking.
"W-what? I didn't say anything...at least I don't think I did." You say nervously, but you were shocked.
"(Y/n), I have to tell you something," Erik says with a serious face.
"I-I'm listening" you stutter.
"Remember when you bumped into me on my first day?"
You nod slowly
"I gave you those mean looks because...I can read minds. And I heard what you were thinking. I thought you were one of those girls. But when I saw you, you were keeping your distance and I was thankful."
The entire time he was talking, you stood there, shocked and embarrassed. Why was he telling you this? Why!?
"Hey, (y/n)...helloooooo....are you ok?" Erik was waving his hand in front of your face.
"Uh yeah...it's just..." You couldn't continue for some reason.
Erik sighs "I understand...I'm sorry for invading your mind, but for some reason, your thoughts kept coming to me and-"
"Do you wanna hang out tomorrow?" You cut him off. You were surprised that you just said that.
"W-what? Oh yeah, sure." He looked confused.
"I think it's kinda cool that you read minds. It's ok if you invaded my privacy, but try not to next time." You say, keeping your mind blank.
"It's not like I'm trying to read your mind. Whenever I see you, your thoughts come to me." He says.
Can you hear me? You test him, which was unnecessary.
"Yeah" Erik chuckles.
