Chapter 44

“What took you so long?” Paris asked as she attacked me with a hug.

“What are-? What?” I asked.

“You called me 20 minutes ago. And where’s Harry?” she asked. “I thought you were coming together.”

“He’s upstairs.” I said taking a chair. “He… had some stuff to do.”

“Okay then. Are you coming in for a dip?” She asked as she took off her shirt.

“Nah. Maybe later.” I said.

“Alrighty.” She said as she dove in with her bikini. I couldn’t tell her. I can’t tell anyone! But I can’t stop thinking about it. It was just a kiss… but it was a pretty amazing kiss. Guilt was eating me up. I really like Jeremy, Like to the extent that I think something really great could happen between us… but now Harry was in the picture. Crap, I’m screwed.

“Hey babe.” Jeremy said as he kissed my cheek and sat beside me.

“Hey boo boo.” I greeted, then realized what I just said. “… yeah. Let’s not give babynames like how I just did.”

“Why? I liked it” he said smiling like a dork.

“Really?” I asked. He nodded.

“Yeah. It’s cute.”

“Aww. Then kiss me boo!” I laughed. He pressed his lips to mine for a quick second, then attacked my face with kisses.

“Well don’t you two look cute together.” Niall joked as he walked up with Liam. I blushed and hid my face n Jer’s shoulder.

“Leave the happy couple alone!” Danielle teased. Liam took the seat beside her. I looked up to say something, but then I saw Harry walking with Louis. I bit my lip and pretended to smile. Jeremy’s arm snaked around my shoulders. I kissed his cheek.

“So we’re the ‘happy couple’ now?” I joked.

“Apparently.” He said.

“The Happy Couple… I like it.” I laughed. He joined me.

“I do too.”

Harry’s P.O.V

I lay on my back just staring into space. My heart was still pounding and I still felt her lips on mine. I just kissed her… I kissed Rey. That’s gotta count for something. I mean, she couldn’t have not felt anything right?... she didn’t stop it…

“Harry?” Lou called from the doorway.

“Yeah?” I called back. He walked in.

“Wanna walk around? I’m bored.”

“Sure.” I got up, grabbed my phone and key, and left my room.

“What’s on your mind?” Lou asked as we started walking.

“Not much really.” I lied.

“Rey and Jeremy?” he guessed. I stopped walking.

“Now I am.” I felt my heart slowly beginning to tear. He patted my back as we kept walking.

“You need to forget about her. Yeah she’s great, but it doesn’t really look like you’ve got a chance.” He said.

“Then why does it feel like I have a chance?” I asked even though I knew the answer.

“Because that’s what you want to be true.” He said.

Because it is true. I thought. We walked down to the pool to meet everyone. I thought I was going to be fine… until I saw Rey and Jeremy together. They looked so damn happy, I almost felt bad for what we did. She looked up at me and immediately looked down. When her and Jeremy started talking again, I had to force a smile so nobody would notice.

“Get me out of here.” I whispered to Louis. We walked to the lounge, where I just sat and stared into space, thinking of what it would be like if I were him…
