Ally's POV
When me and Polo drove into the neighbor hood, he barked cheerfully. I looked at him and he jumped to the back seat and scratched at the door. I knew he wanted to get out so I reached back and opened the door for him. Polo took off really fast through the neighborhood. I Quickly shut the back door and drove off following him. A couple of turns later Polo stopped at this beautiful house. I was amazed at the sight and finally got out of the car. Polo ran over to the backyard and I followed him. But as I was walking to the back of the house a curtain closed very quickly. I kinda stared at it for a minute but I thought I was just dreaming so I continued following Polo to the back yard.

When we got back there I saw a huge yard with a small pool and a garden patch. But with my concern was that the flowers were tended and looked really nice but who would tend them. Soon the thought slipped my mind and I continued following Polo. Soon we stopped at a little sapling. Polo sat down and stared at it and then started whimpering. I felt bad for Polo and sat down beside him patting him on the back. Then when I looked up I saw that the dirt was fresh and wet. Something had to be wrong.

When I turned around to look back at the house a dark figure popped out of nowhere then it disappeared. I looked down at Polo and he looked up at me then he started to bark. I asked him what was wrong and he took off running to the front of the porch. I followed him again and Polo ran up the porch barking and whimpering. I then heard the door screech open. I was so creeped out that I was walking towards my car. Then the voice to told me to wait. I turned around and seen a dark shadow figure in the house. Polo jumped at the figure.

The mysterious figure stepped out of the doorway and came forward.
I was shocked. Aren't I the only one left on earth? The girl that stepped out looked to be around my age. I could see that she was pretty shocked to, but her face soon turned to joy when polo jumped on her leg. She picked him up and held him tightly.

"That's your dog," I asked obviously already knowing the answer as the address matches the same one on his collar but trying to make conversation. She nodded her head.

"Well isn't this weird, I thought I was the last person on earth," I joked.

"Me too," she said. Something finally coming out of her mouth. "Thanks for bringing Polo back, I'm Gabrielle by the way, but you can call me Gabby," she said waving her hand slightly. I could tell this was all awkward for her, it was for me.

"Nice to meet you Gabby, I'm Ally."

She put on a delicate smile, but I could see the pain in her face. This was hard on both of us. Now I know what it feels like to lose a family member. Gabby started speaking.

"Wanna come inside, there's electricity," she said jokingly.

"Sure," I said and entered the house with Gabby and polo.

Maybe I'm not alone after all. We could be great friends. But if I wasn't the only one left, there could be others, right? I don't know. Right now I'll enjoy the company that I have.
