I'm going to miss you soooo much! I signed.
"I'm going to miss you too!" she said trying not to cry. "And again, I'm so sorry for the way I acted towards you at the concert. And it was your birthday too! I HAVE to make it up to you when I get back!"
No you don't, I signed.
"Don't be silly! We're going to do some amazing things when I get back. Starting with finding Connor!" she said.
Just then, the overhead voice said, "Flight 159 is now open for boarding!"
That was Avery's flight.
She turned around to make sure she had all her luggage and didn't see me sign, There's no need. Already found him....
She turned back around and gave me one last final squeeze before she left for 3 months. Maybe they would decide if she was progressing well and being on good behavior, they would let her come home early to try it out.
I followed her and her mom to the doorway where they go to enter the plane. I waved a final goodbye and then they disappeared.
They were gone. I realized that since all three of us took a cab here, I don't have a ride home. I started to call a cab company but then a very familiar dirty blond hair and blue eyes were walking toward me.
Hey! I signed. What are you doing here? I started signing to him so he could figure out some of the signs.
"Coming to pick you up!" he said cheerfully signing along with some of the words. He's been practicing, I see.
Good for you, practicing when I'm not with you! I signed.
"Well you you're all I can think about when I'm not with you!" Okay that made my cheeks burst into flames. I was probably beet red. Connor chuckled a little. I playfully shoved him away from me for making me blush so bad.
Wait, how'd you know I was here? I signed.
"I called your mom and she said you, Avery, and her mom to a cab to the airport. And I figured Ms. Taylor was going with Avery and that leaves you here all alone, rideless, and driver's licenceless," he chuckled to himself about the last one. I hit him.
"Owwie!" he whined.
Who told you about that?! I signed.
"Your mom and I said more than just, 'where is she?' and 'at the airport,'" he said. "That conversation would be REALLY boring."
And you are not the boring guy, I signed. I'm surprised he hasn't asked what I've signed yet. Maybe he's done more research.
"That I am not!" he remarked. He threw his arm over my shoulder and I tried not to hyperventilate. I wonder if he felt my heart start racing when he did that.
We walked to his car in the parking lot. I must say the airport is very busy today! He was parked all the way in the back. I didn't mind it though. More time I got to walk with him and his arm around me. :)
I walked over to the passenger side and Connor apparently followed. He opened the door for me even though I could've gotten the door myself. He ran over to the driver's side and started the car.
He drove until we came the Starbucks down the street from my house. Of course, Connor couldn't pass it up so he stopped and parked the car. He went inside and got our drinks. I was hoping he'd get my Caramel Ribbon Crunch but he walked out with two of the same drink. A Peppermint Mocha for both of us. He got in the car and handed me my drink. I looked down at it.
