Daniel had no idea what to do in a moment like that. He knew that Ali's parents weren't too fond of him to begin with, and now they caught Daniel all over their daughter."Daniel? What are you doing in here? How did you know we moved back-"
Ali interrupted her mother, "I saw him somewhere. Mom, can we have some privacy-"
"Ali, we'll be upstairs. Come and speak to us after you two get dressed, and after Daniel leaves." Her father gave Daniel a stern look before waking upstairs, Ali's mother following.
Daniel cursed and buried his head in the pillow. When Daniel went back to Miyagi's, he was constantly calling Ali to check in on her, but he got no answer. He had to leave a lot of messages,
"Ali, I'm really sorry about that. Tell them I take the blame."
And then he would call again.
"Hey, are you there? I want you to know I'm really sorry, Ali."
And then again.
"Please pick up the phone. I'm sorry."
Daniel had to give up.
The next day, Daniel awoke, going to find Mr Miyagi. He finally found him outside.
"Hey, Mr Miyagi, you going fishing?" He walked over to him, helping him carry a box.
"Yes, Daniel-San. Nice way to relax." Miyagi smiled warmly. Daniel thought about that. Nice way to relax.
"Um.. Can I go with you?" Daniel asked. Miyagi and Daniel had never been fishing together before, but Miyagi seemed to go very often.
Miyagi nodded, "aye, of course, Daniel-San." Daniel smiled and walked over to the truck. He packed it up for Mr Miyagi, and the two climbed in, driving off.The two were sitting on a boat as they were attempting to catch fish. Miyagi had none, not seeming phased. Daniel had none, and he seemed to be getting impatient.
"Where are the fish exactly?" Daniel asked.
Miyagi smiled, almost like he expected this of Daniel. "In water."
Daniel rolled his eyes, "yeah, I know that. Why won't they come to us?"
Miyagi shrugged, "smart fish."The afternoon came around. Daniel had relaxed, not caring so much of the fish now, but more so his problems.
"Daniel-San, something wrong?" Miyagi asked.
Daniel shrugged, "I've got a lot of problems lately. Issues with Jessica. Kreese wants me dead. Ali's parents caught me with her."
Miyagi looked at Daniel, "doing what?"
Daniel threw his hands up, "nothing important!" He laughed, causing Miyagi to laugh too.
"Daniel-San, Daniel-San, problems are only problems if you let them be. If you choose to ignore, problems go away."
Daniel shrugged, "that's a lot of issues to just ignore."
Miyagi shook his head. "A problem is a problem."
Daniel picked up the fishing rod again, lowering the hook in to the water. "I just seriously hope so."Daniel and Miyagi was unaware of what was happening back where they parked the truck. Someone was playing around with the screws in the tires. Then, the brake. It was broken. Quietly, the stranger left. It was non other than John Kreese.
Daniel and Miyagi made their way back to the truck after another hour, seeming pretty happy. "Hey, at least we got a fish," Daniel rose the box he held, laughing. "I mean, it's one, but it's a good one. Dinner tonight." Daniel nodded.
Miyagi nodded with a grin, "yes, Daniel-San. See? Patience. There is always outcome."
The two placed the rods and boxes in the trunk. Then, they got in to the car, starting it. The car was parked where there was a bunch of trees, so they had quite a while to get back to the house, because they had to drive through all the trees.
Daniel decided to drive, not wanting Miyagi to really do all the work for him. He started the car, driving off.Daniel and Miyagi gave each other looks throughout the first couple minutes of the ride, feeling like something was wrong.
"Daniel-San, slow." Miyagi nodded, but he sounded calm.
Daniel tried to hit the brake a little, but even a lot wouldn't do anything. It was as if the brake wasn't working. "I can't, the brake is being weird, it's not doing anything," Daniel looked down at the brake, and then back in front of him, figuring he should keep his eyes on the road. There was a bang to Daniel's left. The car jolted down a little.
"What the hell was that?" Daniel looked out the window, seeing one tire completely gone. "Mr Miyagi, the tire is gone!" Daniel watched the others, seeing how shaky they were.
A tire on Miyagi's side popped off. The car jolted lower again. "Dammit," Daniel saw the car going straight toward a tree. He turned the wheel immediately. That was a close one.
"Daniel-San, hit brake." Miyagi sounded more alert now.
"Are you not hearing what I'm saying? It's broken! Someone did this to the truck!" Daniel sounded angry, but also nervous.
Another tree was coming up, and Daniel quickly turned the wheel sharply, causing Miyagi and Daniel to be jolted to their sides.
"I hate driving," Daniel muttered to himself. He didn't even know if he was going in the right direction - all he saw was more trees.
"Mr Miyagi, what do I do?!"
"We jump. If other tire breaks, car spins out of control." Miyagi explained.
"Jump?! You want us to die?!" Daniel exclaimed.
"We die either way, Daniel-San!"
Miyagi was already counting down from ten.
"Mr Miyagi, wait, hold on, we have to prepare-"
"Nine."
"Hold up! Not yet!" Daniel spun the wheel sharply again, as another tree came up.
Miyagi felt the tire near him starting to cause the car to go shaky. They had to go now.
"One." Miyagi nodded.
Daniel looked at him like he was crazy. But in an instinct, they unbuckled.
Daniel kicked open the car door and jumped out.The tire came off, only one left, and the car went spinning out of control through the trees until it crashed in to one. Everything came to a stop. It was silent. Finally.
Daniel was on the ground. He slowly pushed himself up to sit, looking around. "Mr Miyagi?" He had dirt all over his face, and he must have scratched his arm on something, cause there was blood, and a piece of fabric missing from his flannel. Nothing major, though.
Mr Miyagi came walking over to Daniel. He didn't even look bad. He looked like he did before he jumped.
"How did you- you-" Daniel didn't even know what to say about that, so he just took Mr Miyagi's hand, getting up.
They looked at the destroyed car.
"Daniel-San. We walk home." Miyagi nodded, turning to walk away.
Daniel stared at him, amazed at how he was letting this slip by so easily.
"Do you ever worry?" Daniel followed him.---------------------------------------------------
Jessica was over Miyagi's house, bandaging Daniel up.
The two were alone in Daniel's room.
They didn't speak much to one another. Daniel was just relieved she was there for him, after what happened between them last night."Thanks, Jessica. Really." Daniel said quietly, finally breaking the silence.
Jessica shrugged, "yeah, anytime. I'm your girlfriend. I kinda have to be here for you." She smiled a little. "Was it that crazy guy again?"
Daniel nodded, "yeah. I'm convinced. I've got a lot of people wanting me dead, but he's who's been following me. Has to be."
Jessica nodded, "you're probably right."There was a knock at Daniel's bedroom door. They both looked at one another, confused. It wasn't Miyagi - there would have been a shadow by the door if it was a person in general, and Miyagi usually says its him.
Daniel stood up and walked to the door, opening it quickly. No one. Just a note.
Daniel picked it off the door, reading it as he walked back inside the room, closing the door behind him.
"What does it say?" Jessica asked.
Daniel handed the note to her.'Cobra Kai Dojo. Tomorrow. 3. - J.K.'
