This is it. ALDC were well on their way to The World Championships which were being held at none other but The Kennedy Center. It was thee competition. This is what they had been training for for the past who knows how many years. This was their dream. Abby had gone all out this year. The Elite girls group dance costumes were flowey snow white dresses which ended mid thigh with shiny diamante bordering the collar. Mackenzie loved them because it made her feel like she was a princess. Of course all those costumes were safely packed away and stored underneath the bus in the storage compartment. Oh and the bus. It wasn't your average bus either. It was a regal double decker with those tinted windows on the sides that you could see out of but no one could see in. Kenzie felt like a celebrity in a limo...but the limo had too much yummy fuel and turned into a big bus! From the outside yes it looked normal, cream with Abby Lee's Dance Company in fancy lettering with swirls and everything painted in a glossy fushia. Nia done that because she was going to Big school, Secondary and she done art as a subject! Unlike Kenzie who was in Primary and only did art on Fridays...if Ms McEllistrim remembered to bring in the keys for the paint press that is! Ms McEllistrim was rather old, she had gray hair which was cut into a Bob and she always wore these woolly jumpers that were so hot she permanently had a flushed cheeks. She kinda looked like she belonged in the Broken Dolls dance!

But anyways inside the bus was just stunning. The seats weren't one behind the other instead they were facing each other in two rows and there were these little compartment thingys underneath the seats which seemed like magic to Mackenzie, you had to press a button and little tables would pop out by your feet connected with brass tubing and alls you had to do was slide the flat table part up in front of you with your feet inside the space within two tubes and voilà you had a table.

Upstairs though was Mackenzie's favourite. There were nine beds for Kendall,Maddie,Kenzie,Chloe,Paige,Nia,Kalani,JoJo and Sarah. Each bed had its own different duvet thing. Mackenzie's was of Olaf from Frozen because that was her favourite movie ever. She was forever singing Let It Go until eventually one of the girls, most of the time Maddie would tell her to Shut up. All the mums slept downstairs because the seemingly magic seats pulled out into beds too. Kenzie was glad she didn't have to sleep on the seats because the material was very scratchy and matted but it was supposed to be that way. Abby had her own bed over at the back of the bus on the lower deck behind a glass screen. It was hilarious to find out the screen was indeed not soundproof as during their first night on the roads Abby let out a rather rude sounding noise. She denied it of course blaming it on poor baby Broadway who slept at the foot of the bed. Kenzie hated that phrase. She always pictured a giant, stinky foot with those icky bits by the toes just standing at the end of Abby's bed! Abby probably climbed up a stalk and used her sharp nails to chop a poor giants foot off. Miss Abby was forever filing her nails with this banana shaped thing. So was Maddie. Kenzie looked down at her nails, they were all bitten and short. Oh no! She was rambling again! But back to guilty Abby she denied the serious crime of farting although everyone knew it was her. There was also a TV upstairs and one downstairs as well but the mums only watched boring news on that one so the dancers watched their programs upstairs instead. Cue the loud arguments over what channel to watch on the huge sloping plasma screen TV. But Kenzies all time favourite was this swing type thingy which hung from the roof upstairs by a metal chain yoke at the corner. It was almost a full circle and was made of bamboo wood which smelt all forest like. It had an opening near the top and you had to jump a bit to get in and it was filled with white fluffy cushion's. Mackenzie liked to think it was a pet baby polar bear, naming her Snuffy and she pretended to feed Snuffy some biscuits but then the crumbs fell onto the other cushions and the big white blanket so the girls gave out to her and a rule was applied that you weren't allowed bring food or drink onto the swing. It took a whole five days to drive from LA over to New York because the driver Bentley could only drive eight hours a day because of a new legislation and because the M50 connecting the roads had been closed down due to maintenance works so they had to drive through the country side (and by roads through towns and cities) on those wobbly pot holed roads that made both Mackenzie's cheeks and Abby's double chin wiggle a lot. It was fun for the first ten minutes because Kenzie thought it was like a roller coaster but then it started to hurt her bum.

She could just imagine the World Championships now. She could picture the huge stage a hundred times the size of the dance floor in Abby's. Her mum would be smiling up at her with a chesire cat from Alice in Wonderland like grin with happy tears. Everyone would be cheering her name "Mackenzie Mackenzie MACKENZIE"

Suddenly Mackenzie was literally shook out her day dream by her sister Maddie. 'Mackenzie I've been calling you for ages come on its time for bed say goodnight to Mum" Maddie ordered before turning around nearly whipping her sister in the face with her long golden brown locks and grasping Kendall's hand, pulling her up the brass winding staircase. Kenzie frowned at the disappearing figure of Maddie but followed her orders. Her mum was having an in dept conversation with Jill Kendall's mum about the Candy Apples or Rotten apples as they oh so fondly called them. It took a lot of tugging on her mums silky white button up too before she paid attention to her daughter. Melissa kissed her daughter on the scalp fondly bidding her goodnight.
