Chapter 25

Lilly's Pov

My body hit the floor with a thud as I mistakenly rolled off the couch causing me to wake up. It wasn't the best way to get up in the morning, literally 'rolling out of bed', my back hurt and I was an inch away from hitting my back against the coffee table. Muttering a few curse words under my breath I slowly stood up from the hard wood floor and stretched.

I yawned as I put on a pot of coffee for myself so prepare for the day. Outside the sun with shinning and birds were chirping, it was another beautiful summer day in the lovely state of Massachusetts. My coffee finished and I grabbed the steaming cup before walking over to my spot on the couch I had spent so much time on.

I started to become bored as is at in silence drinking my coffee. The remote was too far away from me and I wasn't really thinking about getting up and getting it. I looked around me for something to entertain me and I began to clean up the mess I had made. First I folded the blankets, then put the pillows in their correct spots, after I picked up the trash. A folded piece of paper caught my eye and I carefully picked it up and read the contents inside.

I wish I hadn't.

Memories of the frightful night prior flooded into my mind. More and more letters started arriving and I had no idea from who, or from where? I did have a slight clue on who was sending them, but with my life you could never really be sure. Right when you thought you knew someone, or something, everything you knew got twisted around and your life becomes fucked up. A loud bang came from my door making my heart come to an immediate stop. Without thinking I ran into my kitchen a pulled a knife out of the block on the counter. I swallowed hard before placing my shaking hand on the door knob. With one swift motion I opened the door and to my surprise it wasn't anything I was expecting.

I placed the knife on the table beside me and jumped into the arms of my boyfriend. Harry stood on the other side with the local newspaper in his hand, we wore a pair of black skinny jeans and a white t-shirt.

"I missed you too Lilly." He laughed as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

I laughed as he placed me back on the floor. "What are you doing here so early?" My smile was huge on my face.

He looked at me extremely confused, "uh babe, it's 4 in the afternoon."

I didn't believe him, turning to look at my microwave the small digital clock on it read '4:20 p.m'. I must have slept longer than I expected, it was a long night last night though so that could explain a few things.

"Did you just get up?" He asked while walking inside dropping his bag on my floor.

"Ya," I paused, "a few weird things happened yesterday that kept me up." I explained.

"Weird things?" He questioned as he plopped down on my couch.

"Mhm," I said unsure if I was going to tell him. I decided I would, it was best if he knew. "I've been receiving a few odd letters."

"What do they say? From who?" He sat up a but straighter.

I shrugged, "I'm not sure from who, but they've been saying weird things like how the person 'has my best interest in mind' and how I should 'keep my friends close and my enemy closer'."

He looked at me angrily before muttering 'stupid bitch' under his breath. By the way he looked away from me and buried his hands in his face I was sure he didn't want me to hear him so I didn't say anything. He seemed uneasy, I did my best to reassure him that things were ok, although I wasn't even positive myself. "Babe, please I don't want you to have to worry about this. I can handle it." I spoke softly as I rubbed his back but he moved away from my gentle touch.
