"I'll come back soon don't worry!" I said as I kissed my fiancé, Sean, on the cheek. "I'm worried for you Melissa... This is the first time you have been going out by yourself in a while, much less driving." Sean quietly spoke as he held on to my hands tight.

"I'll be back! Besides, I want to surprise you all with the decorations I get for the wedding."

"I'll be waiting..." Sean hesitantly let go of my hands and I waved good bye to my parents and headed out to my car. Gripping the wheel I sighed trying to calm my racing heart. You won't have a panic attack Melissa. Not this time...I started the car and drove away. Surprisingly there wasn't any traffic on the Pasadena, so the ride was pretty smooth. Everything was going fine so my hands relaxed a little on the wheel and I turned on the music. Closing my eyes for a few seconds was the worst mistake I have ever made in my life. Some drunk ass guy swerved onto my lane and had hit my car. My heart started to race and my hands started to tremble again. No no no no no no no... Please no... Compose yourself Melissa. I slammed the breaks down, but that only made it worse. The car skittered across the road and crashed into the van in front of it. I heard the glass shatter and quickly covered my face to protect it. Pain shot from my legs and arms. I hesitantly looked down and saw fresh blood flowing out of my legs. My arms had cuts all over them. My car suddenly moved forward after a truck had hit it from behind. My body flew forward, but thanks to my seatbelt I stayed in the seat and didn't fly out the window. My face landed on top of the air bag. I need to get to my phone and call the police... I wanted to move my hand but my body stayed put. No... Come on... Overcome the panic... I took deep breaths to calm myself and thought of my future with Sean. My heart started to slow down a little and my hands started to shake less. Finally my body decided to follow me and I grabbed my phone and dialed 911. "Hello?" A woman's voice from the other end of the line answered.

"Please come I need your help!" I pleaded. Tears started to flow from my face.

"Calm down Miss. Can you tell me where you are and what happened?"

"I'm on the Pasadena highway... There was a drunk driver who crashed into me. I tried to stop my car, but I ended up crashing into the van in front of me. There are more cars here... I-I-I- I think I'm in the middle of a pile up..." my hand started to shake even more on the phone.

"Okay. Thank you for informing us. We are sending ambulances to you current place. Can you please state your name and if you're injured, where you are hurt?"

"My name is Melissa... Melissa Rodriguez. My legs and arms have deep gashes and I feel like I lost a lot of blood."

"Okay. We are on our way. Try finding a way to stop the bleeding for now."

"Thank you..." I hung up the phone and pressed a blanket on to my legs hopping it would help. All of a sudden, my car lurched forward due to the impact of another vehicle. The metal of my car started to bend, and one of them impaled my side. I let out a shriek of pain. The blood from my side started to gush out. I started to feel light headed from the loss of blood. No... I will live... Sean is waiting for me... My family is waiting for me... My breaths started to get shorter. Oh god... I'm dying... I dialed Sean's number on my phone, wanting him to hear my last words. It ended up going to voicemail. Crap. This is better than nothing though. "Sean... I just wanted to say I love you more than anything else in the world. I might not make it home after all. Tell my parents I'm sorry for all the wrong things I've done to them and that they'll always be in my heart. To my siblings, never stop smiling and always find the good in the bad. Sean... you have my last words... Even if my heart stops beating, I will never stop loving you." I sent the voicemail and hung up my phone. Tears came out of my eyes. I want to live. I want to live for Sean. For my family... My vision started to blur. This is it... My time has come... I heard the ambulances in the distance, but it was too late. I couldn't be saved any more. I lost most of my senses and my sight was slowly giving way to death. I glanced to my dash board and saw a picture of me and Sean kissing. More tears came and I used my last breath to say, "I love you... Sean..." I closed my eyes one last time and fell into an endless dark abyss.
