Nathan

Something is wrong this morning, I don't know what yet but I can feel it.

Last time I had this feeling, the town was attacked by rogues. Disgusting, ungrateful creatures they are, if you ask me, they need to be completely wiped out of this world.

I blame the gut feelings on my Alpha instincts and the need for protecting my pack, granted I'm not Alpha and this isn't my pack yet, but all will be set in place when I find my mate.

My mother says she senses it will happen soon, I guess that's her Luna senses? I don't really know, I just hope she's right.

I'm ready to take my responsibility as Alpha King of Crostovia, my land, my home, my kingdom. Crostovia is the land my ancestors claimed theirs long ago, we have ruled for centuries, in charge of all the werewolves of the world, even the rogues, unfortunately.

Crostovia was once known as North America hundreds of years ago, then in the year of 2017, when a cheeto puff took over, it all fell, and us werewolves who were hiding in the shadows of the humans took over.

We weren't alone of course, and we weren't the only creatures who hid, there's vampires but they're in past Russia 'they decided to keep the name' under the rule of King Leonidas. Witches are in past Europe now known as Circe, with Queen Reyna as the ruler.

We are the main three that took down the humans, they're still around of course, you can find them in past Greenland and Australia, but they are the minority now.

All different kinds of creatures roam the world freely, but there are regulations to keep everyone safe.

For instance, if a werewolf wished to go to Circe, they would need to come to me and if I give them permission to go, I will contact Queen Reyna.

If that werewolf were to break any serious laws in Circe, they would know the cost before they left, the cost being their life.

The three of us meet once a year to discuss things, I started tending the meetings with my father about two years ago.

Reyna is nice but she has a look that tell's you to not be fooled because, she can cause hell. Leonidas is just an arrogant playboy, serious when he needs to be but other than that, a total goof ball.

I'm interrupted from my thoughts by my mother barging in.

"Nathan your father is calling for you."

"Yes mam." I nod her way and walk towards my fathers quarters.

"Do you know what it's about?" I ask as we walk along side each other.

"Not really, he interrupted my reading." she replies annoyed. My mom loves her reading.

Walking through the castle halls with the white marble walls, and red carpet floor, I wonder what is so important, my father would interrupt my mothers reading.

Standing in front of the dark wood doors, with its marvelous designs of the war, I knock.

"Enter."

Walking in I see my father pacing.

"You've felt it, correct." he states.

The mate pull? How would he know? Oh goddess. We don't have the same mate right?! Oh...

"The feeling of blood being about to shed."

Oh.

Idiot.

"Yeah, something like that."

He turns towards me at my response.

"Something is going to happen very soon. We must prepare, you have to be prepared."

I have never seen my father more serious than in this moment.

"I'm prepared." I say with such certainty I almost believe it myself.

He inspects me,  "Tell the guards to be ready for anything."

I nod and head out the door.

I feel so unprepared and I don't know why.

I've trained all my life, but something tells me I won't be prepared for what's about to happen.
