Only a few more minutes now, and the sun will be behind the mountains.

We hide in the woods and hills to the right of the castle, about twenty feet away from the closest guard.

Father has made up a concoction that masks our smell, as if we weren't even there, so we don't have to worry about them sniffing us out.

We watch a new guard come up to the one already guarding this perimeter, after a brief conversation,  the former guard leaves and heads toward the castle.

Once he's out of sight, the new guard sits and leans against a tree deciding to take a nap.

Really?

Waiting a bit for him to doze off, Bruce sneaks up and fully knocks him out. He turns over to us and gives us two thumbs up with a smile.

My father growls while I try to hide my snicker. Theo throws me an annoyed look having heard me.

Bruce is one of my favorite people, he's so big and scary but a huge teddy bear and jokester.

With just a sliver of sun left behind the mountains, I mentaly prepare myself for my task ahead.

Of course I've killed rogues before, so killing the Prince will be the same, if anything more enjoyable with how the Royals ruined peoples lives, but it's not.

I'm getting a sense of dread, which I don't understand. I can't think too much about it though, because the sun has finally set.

"Theo, go" My father demands.

Theo throws me one last look, then sets off with his group to the town.

Okay?

"Let's go" Draco cackles.

After shifting, the rest of the pack heads off towards the castle with me discretely behind the big guys, till we see the Prince that is. He should be fighting, if he's not a coward.

Halfway to the castle, we hear the ruckus in the town.

Then there's a noise we weren't expecting. Growls.

Taking quick glances back, there's pack warriors following and gaining on us.

It doesn't ruin our plans, but it is annoying. A few of our members in the back, fall back to deal with them.

Finally arriving at the castle, we shift back and the throw grappling hooks that we were carrying in our mouths. The walls too high to jump, so we have to climb it.

Theo and his men will be going through the front distracting.

I'm sure that plans gone now, the pack warriors behind us probably already informed the Royals that we're scaling the wall.

Finally reaching the top, we jump over. As soon as I land, I hear growls.

Looking up, I see more pack warriors coming out, they were waiting for us to jump over.

We're surrounded.

Rafael and Gabriel land on either side of me.

The warriors lunge at us, I would love to stay in this fight, but I need to draw back.

Find the Prince. Kill the Prince.

Gabriel follows me, while his twin stays behind.

Sneaking behind the fight, with the smell of blood and sweat in the air, we head towards the entrance. We don't make it far before we catch the sense of a powerful aura arriving.

It's not as strong as it should be, so it's either the Beta or the Prince.

Looking around, my focus is on finding where the aura is.

Once I found it though, I stop breathing.

Striking blue eyes are what capture my attention. Then the rest of the face comes to view and my heart pounds against my chest.

No. No. No.

This can't be happening right now!

I tear my eyes away and start sprinting to the entrance, a powerful growl rips out behind me.

I make it halfway up the grand stairs before I'm tackled over them and we both fall over the rails.

We land in a little decorative garden blocked off by the stairs.

I notice they made sure to land first so I wouldn't get hurt, I look up and see the blue eyes again, there's confusion and uncertainty in them, but also impression and adoration.

I need to get off him and out of these arms. Oh but I love it here.

No! The plan.

"Are you okay?! Why are you with the rogues? Did they take you? Harm you? I'll-"

"Where's the Prince!" I cut him off. I just need to confirm it's not him, though I have a strong sense it is...

"The Prince? Why?" he asks confused, and his guard is up a bit.

I don't have time for this.

"I'm sorry." before he can ask what my apology is for, I slam my forehead to his as hard as I can.

It won't knock him out like it usually does to others, but hopefully it will distract him.

I feel his arms loosen up and take that as my chance to jump up and hop over the rail.

I try to enter quickly and discretely but my plans are ruined when I hear a voice behind me.

"Stop her! She's entering the castle!"

Shït.

Once again, I'm tackled to the ground. I can easily get out of this though.

"Take her to a private room and guard the door, no harm comes to her or I'll have your heads. Make sure she doesn't escape either."

"Yes your highness." the block heads respond.

Bulls-eye.

They pick me up and start dragging me deeper into the castle but as soon as I feel his aura disappear, I swing my body back, and kick my legs up, loosening their grips and hitting their heads.

I sprint back towards the doors and try to find him again, I need to finish my task.

Getting to the entrance and looking around, I see a lot of dead rogues on the ground and a few warriors.

I need to end this, before more lives are lost.

I find him shifted and in battle with a rogue, Cash.

Shifting, I sprint towards them and leap for the Prince's back.

Once again, I am tackled to the ground before reaching my target.

For the third fucking time today!

I hear the crack of bones and know that I won't see Cash alive after this.

Recovering quickly, I slip out beneath the warrior and latch onto his neck.

Before I can do any serious damage, the scruff on my neck is being pulled behind me.

I thrash around trying to escape, but he has a firm grip. I already know it's my mate since my body is calm and I don't feel him as a threat, even though he is, in my mind.

Almost getting out of his grip, I pull forward hard but am slammed back just as hard into the ground.

Fück.

Black starts seeping in through the corner of my eyes and my head feels cloudy, I catch a glimpse around and notice no more rogues, only the ones dead on the floor.

I feel someone licking my face and start fading into the black.

Wasn't Gabriel supposed to have my back? Where the fück was he?
