It was late. Really late.
The lights in the cram-school slowly faded into the darkness as Kim Seokjin shuffled off down the empty sidewalk.
*Sigh*
The sleepy boy glanced down at his watch to find that it was close to 11:00pm; his mother had asked him to be home by 10:45.
Aishhhhh! She got so mad the last time I arrived home after curfew, I hope she's already asleep and won't notice me come in, he prayed to himself silently.
Jin pushed his large glasses back onto the bridge of his nose; they had slipped when he looked at his watch.
Suddenly, as he turned a deserted corner, he smacked right into a tall stranger and the sheer force pushed him backwards, making him fall to the ground.
His glasses flew off and the two books he was carrying flung themselves mercilessly onto the sidewalk.
What the hell?! What just happe---my glasses! Shit---everything is already blurry, the thought to himself miserably.
Jin started to stand up, when he heard the voice. "I'm so sorry! Here; let me help you."
He turned his head to the left and could make out a blurred figure frantically moving around.
"My............my glasses. I need my glasses."
"Oh! I'll find them," the stranger responded. He sounded to be a young man, maybe even Jin's age. It took about 5 minutes and some heavy breathing before Jin felt the man place his glasses into his hands. "Here you go. I'm really sorry; they're a little cracked."
Jin slipped the glasses onto his head and as his vision adjusted, he could see that a large crack ran through the left lens.
Mom is going to literally kill me when I get home, he concluded. Shaking his head, he glanced up and saw the man who had bumped into him staring at him with a certain intensity in his beautiful brown eyes.
Jesus Christ! his mind seemed to scream. He's really hot!
"Ah..........thank you for finding my glasses."
The man smiled and held out a hand, before proceeding to pull Jin up off of the ground where he sat. "Really, it's no problem. I'm just sorry that I caused such an accident and broke your glasses. What are you doing out this late at night anyway?"
The man let go of Jin's hand as he spoke, and the auburn-haired boy was actually a little disappointed. His palms were so soft, and he had such a gentle touch............no! Jin! Snap out of it; why are you thinking such things? He's a guy........he mentally kicked himself.
"Uh.....I was at the cram-school down the street. Finals are coming up so the more study time the better, right?" He swooned a little when the man broke into a huge grin, showing off his perfect teeth.
"So you're a student too? What year are you in?"
Jin hesitated before answering.
"I......uh......I'm graduating this year," he replied softly. "Me too!"
The man explained that he attended a private school just down the road from Jin's home, and that must be why they had never seen each other in classes before.
"I'm Namjoon, by the way. Kim Namjoon," he said while bowing slightly.
"Kim Seokjin," the bespectacled boy answered. "But.......uh.....you can call me Jin."
They stared grinning at each other for a few moments before Namjoon spoke up.
"Well, I'd better let you get home, but I hope we run into each other again."
"Yeah, it was really nice meeting you," Jin lied. Truthfully, he wished that he could stay with the handsome boy in front of him for a few more minutes, but it was already 5 past 11 and if his parents were still awake they must be worried sick.
"Y'know, Jin, if you ever need any guidance studying for your exams I'd be happy to help. I know we just met, but here's my number if you ever want to meet up. I hope we can be friends."
Jin felt like his heart was going to combust from excitement as Namjoon took out his cell phone and exchanged numbers.
"Thanks, I'll.......I'll be sure to text you sometime," he said elatedly.
Namjoon smiled and nodded, before turning to walk off. "I'll catch you later!"
Jin had a goofy grin on his face as he toddled off towards home, planning how on Earth he was going to work up the courage to text his newfound friend.
"Maybe it was a good thing I left so late tonight..........".
