Jin sighed loudly as he allowed his pen to fall from his hand and onto his bedroom floor. It had been 6 long days since his run-in with Kim Namjoon, and his parents had grounded him for a week for missing curfew that night; which meant no cell phone privileges.
The auburn-haired boy swiveled around in his desk chair, allowing his gaze to fall on the beautiful day outside of his window. It was pretty chilly, and the wind was blowing leaves around through the overcast sky. Jin, deciding he needed a break from his frantic studying for finals, slowly stood up and stretched. Taking off his brand-new glasses, he popped in his contact lenses and sighed restlessly. He was technically only grounded for one more day, so being bold, he decided to go downstairs and sweet talk his mom into letting him go out.
"Eomma!" he called while pulling on a warm coat over his white, long sleeved shirt and making his way down the stairs.
"What is it?" the short woman came into view with a dish towel in her hands. "Um, well..." Jin smiled nervously and rubbed his neck before getting cut off by his mother.
"You want to go out or something?"
He stared at her, not quite sure how she knew what he wanted to ask. "Uh, yeah I do actually. And I know that I'm still grounded till tomorrow but I-"
"It's ok, dear." The woman put down the dish towel and placed a hand on her tall son's cheek. "I think I owe you an apology Jin; I've been a bit harsh with this whole 'grounding' thing, and I've been talking with your appa and you haven't really done anything wrong." She smiled softly before continuing. "And you're such a good boy, always studying, getting good grades............I guess I was just worried and overreacted. Can you forgive me?" she asked, with a tentative look in her eyes.
Jin grinned broadly and pulled his mother into a hug. "Of course I do Eomma, I'm sorry too. It was my fault for getting home so late."
They broke apart, smiling. "Ok, then why are you still here?" Jin's mother pushed him playfully. "You've been working so hard this week, go take a break. Oh! And here; I almost forgot." She slipped Jin's phone out of her pocket and into his hands.
"Thank you, Eomma!" he exclaimed gleefully and headed for the front door. "I'll be back soon, maybe I'll just go grab some coffee."
The short woman nodded and laughed at his enthusiasm, waving and reminding him to have fun and be careful.

Jin headed down the street in a brisk walk, the cold air making his cheeks flush pink. He stuffed his hands in his pockets, along with his phone, and began to head in the direction of his favorite coffee shop.
It felt good to finally be out of his little prison, for his parents had only allowed him to leave the house to go to school and back.
After making a couple of turns, Jin reached one of his favorite places in the world: Taehyung's Bakery and Coffee Shop. He pushed open the door and was instantly hit with the comforting scents of baking bread, coffee, and hot chocolate, and as he stepped inside the warm air of the room washed over him cozily; causing him to pull off his heavy jacket.
"Ah, Jin-hyung!" A cheerful voice called out from behind the counter and Jin made his way over with a smile. "How are you Taehyung?" he asked the younger brown-haired boy who was standing at the register.
"I'm doing good hyung! Where have you been? I haven't seen you for a while," the boy said, pouting. Jin chuckled sheepishly and explained about how he got grounded.
After quite a bit of teasing from Taehyung, Jin ordered a hot chocolate and a slice of sweet bread and found his usual seat in the corner of the shop, near the back. As he sat down, he glanced out the window to see that the skies were starting to pour rain. Aish, I don't even have an umbrella, he thought miserably. Pulling out his phone, he turned on the screen and was shocked to see how many notifications he had.
He was even more shocked to see that a couple of the texts were from none other than Kim Namjoon. Smiling to himself, he opened the messages and read them with a grin playing on his chocolate-stained lips.
The first text from Namjoon was asking how he was doing and if he even remembered who he was.
Jin chuckled lightly and was about to respond, but the coffee shop door opened and that grabbed his attention. His eyes fluttered up to where a rain-soaked figure was entering the shop and shimmying out of his rain coat, black hair being tousled lightly.
Diverting his gaze, he went back to his phone until he sensed a presence near him and a very familiar voice asked, "Seokjin?"
