Chapter 3

Standing at the front of the classroom was Jake. He was leaning against his desk. His hazel eyes were boring into mine.

"Ms. Anderson, please watch your language. I'd like to speak to you after class," he quickly composed himself.

People in the classroom were looking at us suspiciously.

Great... I hope my brother doesn't hear about this.

"Yes, sir," I retorted. I could see him smirk as I called him 'sir.'

I couldn't help but feel like this was and Aria and Ezra moment from 'Pretty Little Liars'. The only difference is I didn't meet Jake at a bar, make out with him, and do god knows what else...

(A/N: I had to put that in! I'm sorry. I love PLL!)

Ja-Mr. Taylor continued taking attendance, afterwards he did something most new teachers did.

"Okay. How about we go around the room, share something about ourselves, and maybe you guys can ask me some questions," he said.

Some people groaned, but most of the girls squealed. The idea of getting to share things about themselves and learning more about the new teacher seemed to excite them.

"Okay. Nicole Abarra. You go first," he said pointing to the short red head. Great. He's going in alphabetical order, which means I'm next.

Nicole stood up. "My name's Nicole. I have three younger siblings. I play field hockey and I work at the diner in town."

'Danny's Diner'. That place has some good food. I go there with Jeff and Sadie sometimes. Most of the time it's really crowded with people from our school.

"Interesting. Do you have a question you would like to ask me?" Jake asked. Woops! I meant Mr. Taylor...

"Sure!" Nicole chirped. "Are you single?" Oh god...even the innocent looking one is interested in him.

MR. TAYLOR-ha! Got it right!-cleared his throat. I could tell he was embarrassed and not very comfortable speaking about this.

"Yes, I am single," he replied after some hesitation.

I could hear all the girls sigh in relief.

"Okay. Next person... Victoria Anderson."

I stood up quietly. I looked around the room. Everyone was looking at me. I felt a bit uncomfortable with all eyes on me.

"Hi," I said with an awkward wave. "I'm Victoria, most people call me Tori. I have a twin brother, Ryan, who I'm sure you all know. I like to sing," I said the last part almost in a whisper. Most people knew I was Ryan's sister, but those who didn't gasped. Wow. A little dramatic don't you think?

"I'm sorry what was that last part, Ms. Anderson?" Mr. Taylor asked me. I turned to face him. He had one eyebrow raised and a small smile playing on his lips. I knew he heard what I said.

"I said...I like to sing," I said again, quietly.

"Would you mind singing a song for us?" he asked.

"Mr. Taylor, I like singing, but I'm not good and I won't sing in front of everyone."

"Oh please...you can totally sing." I heard Sadie mumble next to me. But unfortunately for me, Mr. Taylor and most of the class heard it.

Mr. Taylor looked at me expectantly. "So what do you say Tori? Will you sing for us?" he asked, sounding hopeful.

I looked down and fiddled with my fingers. "I don't feel comfortable," I told him honestly.

"Fine. I won't push it, but I would love to hear you sing sometime." I looked up and saw him smiling at me. I couldn't contain the small smile that tugged on my lips.

I nodded and sat down. All the girls asked ridiculous questions.

"What's your favorite position?"

"How good are you in bed?"

"How big are you?"

Mr. Taylor refused to answer their questions. His face turned red and into a look of disgust as the girls asked these questions. They stuck their chests out, pulled their shirts down to show more cleavage, puckered their lips slightly, and failed miserably. They were pathetic and disgusting.

The final bell ring. I grabbed my books and was about to leave class when Mr. Taylor told me to stay. I almost forgot.

"Ms. Anderson, I'd appreciate if you didn't use such foul language in class," he said sternly.

"I'm sorry, sir. I'll try not to. It's kind of a force of habit," I said sheepishly.

"Well try and break it," he said.

I couldn't help but notice how he eyed me up and down. I felt exposed. I felt the blush creep up to my cheeks. Oh god.

He took a step closer to me.

"Victo-" I cut him off. "Please call me Tori."

"Tori, would you mind sitting down?" he asked.

"Okay?" I said a little confused.

I turned around and took a seat.

"I know I introduced myself as Jake in the parking lot, but please call me Mr. Taylor in class."

"Of course," I said quickly.

He looked a little torn, like he wanted to say something.

"You can go now," he said with his head down. He was rubbing the back of his neck. I was worried.

I walked up to him and without thinking placed my hand on his arm.

"Mr. Taylor, are you okay?" I asked concerned.

"Call me Jake outside of class."

"Okay...Jake. Are you okay?" I asked again.

"Yea." He seemed hesitant.

As my arm was on his I could feel his muscles. Oh god, he was muscular.

He was probably six feet tall, maybe more. I was only 5'4. He looked up slightly to see my eyes. His eyes were beautiful. I could stare at them all day.

I pulled my arm away. "I should go," I said hesitantly. I didn't want to go. I kind of wanted to stay with him.

He nodded his head slowly. I picked up my bag and began to walk towards the door.

I glanced over my shoulder. "Bye Jake."

"Bye Tori," he responded.

I left the room and began to walk towards my locker. I grabbed the things I needed and put away the things I didn't.

I walked out towards the parking lot. A smile creeping into my face. What was wrong with me?

I spotted Jeff and Sadie on one side of the parking lot and Ryan and his friends on the other. I help up a finger telling Jeff an Sadie to wait for me.

I ran over to Ryan.

"Hey Ry. I'm getting a ride with Jeff and Sadie," I said quickly.

"Okay, I'll see you later."

I walked back over to Jeff's car. I got into the back seat, even though I hated it.

"So what was that all about with you and Mr. Taylor?" Sadie asked, eyeing me suspiciously.

I honestly don't know.
