"(F/N) this trolls name is Karkat... We haven't been able to sell him because he doesn't fall on the hemospectrum and we can't predict his life span, but it's probably one to two years. Honestly, not being adopted has left him a little bit angry, and hateful most of the time... Are you positive you want him? We have a really friendly one named Kanaya if you'd like..." Karkat looked at you with his little eyes, pleading for you to take him home. You couldn't say no to that face.

"No, I definitely want Karkat. I can handle a little anger, and I'm sure he'll warm up to me. Besides Jade, look at his little face, and the tiny little horns! He's adorable!" She nods and smiles brightly at him. She tells you she will be back to get a travel box for him.  "I'm bringing you home with me Karkat. Who cares about the hemospectrum, am I right?!" He appears to be saying something, but you can't tell what it is, as the glass muffles the noises. Jade returns with a small box that will house Karkat for the road home.

"Would you like to hold him?" Jade asks as she move the lid on the tank. He looks up, then to you, then up again. Looking back at you, he points up, as though asking if you were the reason he was being let out. You nod and his eyes light up. He obviously couldn't hear you, much like you couldn't hear him.

Jade reaches her hand in and Karkat practically crawls up her arm, wanting out to meet his new owner as quickly as possible. Jade grabs him with her other hand and pulls both arms out of the pen.

"Fuck, Jade let go of me I want to meet her. This is fucking embarrassing." He has a bit of a mouth on him, but it's actually really cute coming out of a tiny little mouth. Jade has a hold of him by the waist, and he is punching her with his mighty little fists. If it causes any discomfort she isn't letting on to it. You cautiously open your hands, and reach them out to Jade to receive the angry troll. She gently places him in your hand and he immediately calms down. His eyes widen as they look into yours.

"I'm, uh, Karkat... That's my name." He reaches his hand out for a handshake, then realizes his slight mistake, he grumbles to himself about how utterly stupid that was, after smacking himself in the face he settles to shake your pinky finger.

"Don't beat yourself up Karkat, my name is (F/N). I'm very glad to meet you. I'm taking you home, you know that don't you?" His tiny ears perk up, and his face beams.

"Really?! You won't regret it, I promise! I will always be on my best behavior and-"

"Karkat? It's okay. Really! Just be yourself. I want you to be you... Sound good?" He nods and looks to Jade. She nods and smiles. Karkat is simply beaming. He's so adorable, you can take your eyes off of him.

"Do you want to pick out some clothes and toys?" You nod and follow Jade down an aisle. The shelves all have small ladders, you set Karkat on the top shelf and he immediately goes to a ladder to go down a shelf. It seems he already knows what he wants. You kneel to meet his level and you find he is holding up a black sweater and gray pants. His eyes are pleading, he's obviously had his eye on this for a while.

"Of course Karkat, but you need at least one more outfit for when I need to clean one." His eyes light up, obviously not expecting to ever be given more than one outfit. He finds a gray sweater with a cancer symbol on the chest and black pants, you are sensing a theme. You find a little black dress suit and show him.

"That's a little formal huh? It's really nice!" He smiles takes it from your hand and hold it up to himself, trying to size it.

"Let's get all three outfits, Jade, are there any other things I will need for Karkat? I still have 75 dollars to spend on him." Jade tells you each blood type gets a special food but Karkat being out of the hemospectrum can eat just about anything, troll and human food alike. You get a few attachments to his cage and feel that you have successfully prepared. You sign the check for Jade, only spending $52.09 on Karkat and all of his accessories. You set Karkat down in his travel box.

"It's only for a little while, I only live a few blocks from here." Karkat looks horrified to be put in the box. He feigns a smile up at you, and inches closer to the box. You frown. He's trying so hard but you can tell that this won't be a good experience for him. You instead decide to put him in your jacket pocket. He peeks his little head out and cuddles in close to you. You hand the box back to Jade and gather the rest of your things.

"Feel free to call if you need any help with him!" Jade calls to you as you leave the store.

"Am I your very first Troll?" Karkat asks. You nod then realize he probably can't see that.

"Yes you are, Karkat. But have no fear, I take very good care of my pets!" He lets out a small chuckle and sigh. You are beyond excited to have Karkat as your new pet.

I will be doing a part two to this, a misadventures of Tiny Karkat once you are home, if you will. Thanks for reading I hope you enjoy this first part!
