The kingdom of Feroria, large and vast it is, but any as large is obviously divided into several individual kingdoms and with that, Feroria is separated into four. Gemini, Drelon, Viennese, and Ri Soule. Gemini is the largest of the four, mainly known as the Kingdom of Stone. The kingdom consists of large cities and an army consisting of elites known as the Sentinels. Interestingly enough, Gemini is ruled by the general of the Sentinels, Carver Liam. His family line earned their rights to rule and the respect given to them ages ago during the great war that divided Feroria.
Quite verdant and surrounded by a thick mass of wilderness lies Drelon. Old tales tell that the kingdom only reveals itself to those born of magic or those who are claimed worthy of the sight. Adventurers who wish to seek out this old kingdom are forever lost within the forests masses and are never seen or heard from again. As for who currently rules Drelon, know one knows.
Far to the east of Gemini amidst the endless sands is the wealthiest kingdom known as Viennese. Occupied by many politicians, nobles, and refined merchants. This kingdom is ruled over by the Veranzaki family. The family earned the right to rule since they are the ones who initially made the kingdom wealthy. They are the ones who discovered quick and safe trade routes that extend to all four kingdoms. However, the head of the Varanzaki family, Riaz Orella Varanzaki, currently wages war on Gemini. The family's eldest son, Luciano Xilo Varanzaki, has been appointed general of the Repulicas, obeying his father's every command like a puppet on strings.
Across the Isolda Sea, northwest of Drelon, amidst the horizon you'll encounter a large body of land surrounded by a large docking ships. This is Ri Soule, home to thieves and beggars, well, at least the lower part of the city is. Ri Soule segregates its citizens by ranks of nobility and wealth which is not very populated in that section. Foreigners to Ri Soule are likely to be greeted by smiling faces, and various conversations regarding gossip and political views while being robbed blind. They say to have a tight pocket and a dagger at ready when you enter the city for the entrance to the city is known as the slums. The current ruler is Darius Firmont, a well known noble who keeps to himself and cares more for his wealth than his citizens. Rumor says he's not really in charge, but his eldest daughter, Veronica, is. She cares for her citizens and awaits, just as eagerly as her competitors do, for her father to pass away.
Travelers far and wide from each kingdom have recently found it difficult to travel the roads with the war going about. With that, the roads are swarmed with bandits and thieves who take advantage of the weary merchant and caravan, raiding them. Conning them by disguising themselves as toll and tax collectors. The roads are long and dangerous, so it is not uncommon to find a merchant or caravan guarded by sellswords or mercenaries. A pretty price for a simple journey. Merchants and caravans both seek out help for their travels to neighboring kingdoms and that's where my story kicks into place. A small encampment in an open plain between the borders of Drelon and Gemini is my home. Fort Barastaad is what the local villagers call it. Occasionally, our camp manager, Eric Vaner, sends two or three of our mercenaries down there to control the rabble and keep out unwanted guests and in return the villagers send us food as well as coin. To put it bluntly, mercenaries in the camp do not get paid in coin. The payment we receive is a roof over our heads and a warm meal. A fair deal, despite the fact we risk our necks over some merchant or caravan who wish to travel the roads. A merchant or caravan gets the privilege of choosing who they want guarding them and if there are many requests for that mercenary, an auction is put into motion. This is where I come in, my name is Runa Acorsi and I am a female mercenary, who is unaware of the journey I have in my wait.
