"Please send Kayla to the office." A feeling of dread filled me to the core. I grabbed my binder, my pencil and slung my back pack over my shoulder. I knew the class hour was almost over. My friend waved twords me. I waved back. I walked twords the stairs. My feet felt like lead.

I went upstairs and went twords the front office. I could see my uncle standing there. I carefully opened the door. My uncle stood there with my aunt and two cousins and my old caseworker. My stomach dropped and I couldn't breathe.

"Kayla your grandmother and brother were in a car accident. They didn't make it." Mark my caseworker says. My brain could not process this. After a couple minutes I started to register what they said. I thought about what my grandma always told me. To grieve and move on but what about my brother?

"What am I going to do? I can't legally live alone." I am supposed to stay with my aunt Emma.

"Emma can't keep you." Whatever it doesn't matter now. "You have a couple hours to pack and then you have to be relocated to another foster home."

"I don't want you." Emma says so low only I could hear. Mark asked me to follow him. I did. He led me to his car and he then drove me to my house.
