I woke up to Travis shaking me. He held out a bookbag and a lunchbox.

"School's in session, so get up and get dressed," he said.

He left. Sighing, I got up and dyed my hair dark red with silver strips to match my outfit. I was wearing a silver shirt, black jeans, a red tie, and my hair was up with a red ribbon. I did it because that was the one nice thing my mom would do for me. She loved to put my hair up in ribbons. I sighed and put on silver eyeshadow and some mascara.

I ran downstairs, grabbed some toast, snatched up my bag and lunch, and I was out the door. I walked into our little shed and grabbed my bike. Travis had fixed the tires. I hopped on and rode it to school. I wonder if anyone will remember me? Well no duh they will, but will they see me differently?

I parked my bike out front and locked it. I walked in and saw that everything was the same. They built it to be the same. I walked to where my locker usually was and put in my combination. I opened it and put my bag and my lunch in, but I remembered to take out some notebooks and pencils.

I walked to my first block, biology with Mr. Scruffman. He directed me to my new seat. I was one of the first ones there. I watched as the rest of the class filed in. I took out my notebook and started to doodle, waiting for my lab partner. I looked up to see Kin sitting next to me. I smiled.

"Hey Kin. Howya doin?" I asked.

"Hey Strum. I'm doing pretty good. Don't worry, if you have troubles with something, I'm pretty good at this," he said.

I nodded.

"I'm pretty smart too. Besides, I like to figure it out for myself," I said.

He smiled. I looked at the board as Mr. Scruffman shut the door. He started droning on and on about class rules and dissection rules. I started to doodle again, getting bored. I almost jumped up and left when the bell rang. I got my stuff together and went to my next class, math with Ms. Clemintine. She was a bubbly kind of person. I sat down and pulled out a different notebook.

"Ribbons? I didn't have you pinned as that kind of girl," someone said from behind.

I jumped and heard him chuckle. I turned around.

"Corey, you jerk. I have ribbons 'cause it reminds me of someone, thank you very much," I snapped.

"Feisty," he teased.

I rolled my eyes and turned back around in my seat. Ms. Clemintine began to teach, and I instantly got bored. I was listening, but I wasn't interested,

"Hey Strum, why does Travis call you C?" Corey whispered.

"Cor, shut it," I whispered back.

"C'mon, Strum doesn't even start with c. Is Strum even your real name?" he whispered.

"Cor, if you don't shut your mouth I'll shut it for you," I whispered harshly.

The bell rang and I got up and walked out the door. I just wasn't in the mood for this. I was still upset about Lenny. Speaking of the devil. Lenny was waiting by my locker. I opened it and put the locker door between us. He moved it.

"Hey babe," he said.

"Don't call me that," I hissed.

"Whoa, is something wrong?" he asked.

I slammed my locker shut.

"You wanna know what's wrong? The fact that you lied to me about the fact that the kiss with Laney meant nothing to you, and that you've been seeing her ever since," I snapped.
