Ok, so the last chapter left you hanging on a cliff. Not for long, I do hope. Lot's of OCness!! I also might have messed up the plot a little. The room Sebastian is in now is not his room. His room is next to it. Some of the events that happen in this story did happen in the actual manga. Therefore, I would expect someone *Cough* CloudySun *cough* to guess what exactly Sebastian walked in on. I'll give you a hint. First encounters, no? Guess it? I guess not. Well, here is:
Chapter One -- A Contract of Sorts
Suddenly I was not very sure if having no windows was a good thing. Who knew what dark rituals took place down here?
Well, at the moment, I think I knew one.
The stench of blood was strong in the room. And not just because I had slightly enhanced senses for some or other reason. No, it was because the floor was literally painted in the red substance.
The light that crawled in behind me from the corridor revealed a large room - not overly so, but still large - and a gathering of people. Their was also an altar and a cage. Creepy.
Inside the cage was a small person. From where I stood I could tell that it was a small boy, whose ankles had been chained. The others in the room were all wearing masks. One of them was holding a bloodied knife.
Thankfully, the alter was clean of any corpses and it appeared as if the blood had come from a previous collection. It did not look very...fresh. Wide, blue eyes stared desperately at me from behind the bars of the cage. A small hand reached out for me. At least, he was reaching for the tall, looming figure in the door who could quite possibly be his salvation. I sighed irritably. I was not much one for heroics, I myself preferred standing back and allowing events to play out by themselves.
But this...I could not allow it.
"Someone called?" I asked, stepping into the shallow pool of blood. The thick, crimson liquid slid right off my shoes like water over a ducks back. Thank goodness.
I walked over to the cage, meeting no resistance from the people too shocked to move. "Yes, it seems you are the one who summoned me." I murmured, smirking at the little boy. "Now give me a good reason to stay."
The child looked panicked, but he seemed to reign it in and replace it with anger. "Get rid of them! Get me out!" He snapped, small hands gripping the bars of the cage until his knuckles became white. I tapped my chin with my long fingers.
"Mmm...does not sound very...profitable for me." I mulled, dragging everything out. The boy snarled.
"Get me out. Then we can talk." He growled. A grin of amusement replaced my smirk.
Ok, to clarify things right now. I was neither a sadist nor a phsycopath. I just enjoyed playing with peoples minds, and testing to see whether they are worth the help I could offer them. Not to mention, by playing this as a game, I managed to keep down my gagging reflex.
Coming back to the child in the cage, I nodded, before turning around and facing the small crowd. Their faces had gone slack with shock. "As you have heard I have been ordered to get rid of you. There are two ways this will play out. Either you leave peacefully and I deal with you later, or you stay and I deal with you now." I offered.
Someone sneered at me. "Who are you to make threats to us?"
A flicker of a smile crossed my lips, followed by darkness. "I am in no position to make threats-" I said, as I weaved around the room, knocking people out, "But you are in no position to ignore the threats I make." The lights went back on. No one was standing. Everyone lay, unconscious and face first on the blood covered floor.
