Jacob and Dylan walked into the school and caught up with Ethan. " Do you think we could keep the girlfriend count under 5 this year?" asked Dylan. "Hmm..." said Ethan. " Not a chance."
Jacob rolled his eyes, and him and Dylan got up to go get breakfast. When they got up to get their food, they heard a voice from behind them. "Hey Dylan," said Janice, a girl from their school. Dylan turned around, gave a nervous smile, and turned back around again. "What's the problem Dylan? Something bothering you?" she said, and put her hand on his shoulder. Dylan shook her hand off, paid for his breakfast, and walked away.
As Jacob sat down next to Dylan at one of the cafeteria tables, he asked Dylan a question. "Dylan, you do know that people aren't going to murder you for talking to them right?" "Yeah, I know, but some people..." Dylan trailed off as Ethan sat down next to him. "What's happening guys?" Ethan said. "Just trying to get Mr. Anti-Social to talk to somebody." Jacob said. "Good luck with that.. it would be easier to talk to a pig than Dylan." Ethan said. "Um.. I'm sitting right here..." said Dylan. "Yeah, I know, but it's true." Ethan said. A couple seconds later, the dismissal bell rang. They all said they'd see each other sometime soon, and they left to go to their classes.
Dylan started walking down the long hallway to the opposite side of the school, where he had Chemistry first hour. He walked into the room, and the teacher had them sit in pairs, which they would be in for the rest of the year. He looked around for any desks with no people in them, and took a seat at an empty table towards the back. A few seconds later, the bell rang, and no one had taken the seat next to Dylan. "Good.. I don't have to sit with anyone this year," He thought in his head. As soon as the teacher started taking role, someone burst through the door. "Sorry I'm late, I couldn't find my locker," he said. "That's fine, you can take a seat next to Dylan," he said, and gestured to the seat next to Dylan. "Oh crap..." he muttered under his breath as the guy sat down next to him. "Hi, I'm Jack," he said, and held out his hand towards Dylan. "Dylan," Dylan quietly said, and looked down at the table. This was going to be a long year, he thought.
