(unedited)

Its been two years since he left and everyday I try and think of new reasons to justify why he never came to say goodbye. Why he just left me all alone, so he could be with the three people that never truly liked me. Yet now he's famous, and I'm still in this town where word travels fast and everyone knows the latest gossip. It feels like just yesterday all eyes were on me over the fact that Michael left, everyone wanted to know what I was gonna do, and the truth is, is that I just broke down. But you can only break down so many times before you end up in a dark place along with the hospital.

In two years since he left, and I've picked myself up. I changed who I was, I was no longer that girl that people knew only because her best friend was in a popular band and her brother was the school's football (soccer) star. I opened up more, made more friends, and now I'm captain of our girls volleyball team, and at the top of the social ladder instead of the place I used to be; the bottom. I made two new best friends Courtney, and Maeve who are the co- captains of the cheerleading team. Once I became friends with them over the summer going into year 10 my popularity boosted and I didn't think about Michael as much, but I know that he'll never leave my mind.

"Tara common, you need to get up" Courtney shook me awake I new it was the first day of our last year and the beginning of game season, but in all honesty I just did not care. On the first day of a new school year Michael always used to be the one to wake me up along side of Dustin, but Michael's been gone, and Dustin has football practice I mean that what he gets for being the star player of the team. I took a look at my alarm clock, only to wonder why I was woken up an whole hour earlier that needed. "Tara you promised Maeve that you would do her hair" at that comment I remembered the promise I made to one of my best friends just yesterday. Once I was out of bed Courtney pushed me towards my bathroom claiming that I most definitely need a shower before going anywhere.

After getting ready with Courtney who practically lived with Dustin and I while are parents are off being top lawyers someone else in this country, we left, on our way to Maeve's house. By the time we got to her house it was already the beginning of first period but since we were all in year 12 (seniors) we didn't have a first period class for us it was "study hall" which luckily for us optional to show up too even though it was mandatory to take.

We arrived at school with just enough time to get ready for second period. This year I could tell that second period would be my favorite, it was Biology 2. Science was always my favorite and I always did well in just like Dustin. Walking into class I recognized 4 rowdy boys in the back, Dustin and his friends. Dustin's friends were always over our house playing video games or something when they weren't in training, which made it almost never because their team was always practicing which is the reason why our school is number 1. School dragged on but I felt relieved once lunch came around. I arrived at our "famous" table, and was greeted by some of my favorite people; Courtney, Maeve, Nina, then Dustin, Chase, Nick, and Jaden. This was my group; our great group of friends that everyone talks about having. We hold each other up, each and every single one of them were there for my after he left, and I ended up in the hospital. Lunch became the most interesting part of the day so far, and by the end we made plans to meet up at Millo's favorite dinner right in the heart of town.

Fourth period was art which luckily for me it's an easy A, the arts was something Michael and I always had in common. Though my art was drawing and paintings, and his was music we both knew that it was able to tell a story, and helped us express out emotions. Michael and I would always talk about going to America together so that I could go to art school RISD to be exact and Michael would of just come along for the ride to go and travel. But that dream died as soon as my parents found out and told me that I was never allowed to go to an art school, to them it would give me a life of "struggling" for a true living, so that's where medical school came into play, that it would bring me a "stable" life.

After school we all meet up in the year 12 hall where all of our lockers were placing my school books in and then heading off to the girls locker room with Maeve, Courtney, and Nina to get ready for practice. Nina who was my second in command on the volleyball team pulls me into the gym where all of our teammates were getting the net and setting it up, once they all see me they finish up and gather around in a big circle ready to hear what the first dill was. Three hours later and its five o'clock meaning that practice was finally over. I could hear Maeve finishing up the cheerleaders last few eight counts before wrapping up their practice as well before joining Nina, Courtney, and I in the locker room to shower, and change. Then heading off to meet the guys at Millo's for some dinner. Once we arrived at the dinner the boys were all seated at the booth in the back of the dinner, as we sat down Dustin and Chase let us know that they all ordered the our favorites meals.

Our convocation stated with talking about our day and what's happen since we saw each other last at lunch. How our practice's went considering that we were all apart of one team or another and since we were all year 12th's that meant that all of us were captains of some sort of team.

"She really fell from the top of the pyramid?" Jaden asked laughing as Courtney tells us the story of how Maeve fell from the top of the pyramid at practice. We were all laughing and enjoying our meals, talking as best friends would, the bell that signaling that a new costumers was coming in or leaving would ring.

"I mean most of our girls seemed to forget how to serve the ball over the summer" Nina and I laughed

"well these two ass wipes over here dumped the Gatorade cooler on me at the end of practice" Dustin says

"Well that explains why your hair looks sticky, and you smell weird" he sticks his tong out at me playfully. I notice another group of people come in sit at the other booth at the very back of the diner but I couldn't quite tell who they were, and like it was said before this was a small area where everyone knows everyone.

"Well guys we really must get going its getting late, and I have some homework to get done" Nick states getting up from the table gathering his things, The rest of us following behind as I got up from the table I tripped on the leg bumping into some with fiery red hair.

"Tara?" I looked up to see the last person I ever expected to see again, here. Tears began to flood my eye's as I looked at him, he looked so different.. I didn't know what else to do so I slapped him. I used all that build up anger and sadness from him leaving me that it just came out.
