Chapter - 7 Trust

Ant and I are standing in front of Gemma's door yet none of us have the courage to ring the doorbell
"Go ahead Decky "
I press the doorbell. Gemma opens the door gives me a little hug
"Omg Anthony! It's been ages since we met"
Ant moves forward and hugs her
"There's something we gotta tell you pet" I'm standing right behind Ant Gemma lifts her head from Ant's shoulder and stares at me with a confused look
"Oh come in first I'll put the kettle on"
"No don't .."
"Yes please Ant go and help her with that I'll catch up with Benjamin is he upstairs?"
Ant nods. He knows I want to let Ben know about this first.
As I walk upstairs I can hear Ant and Gemma are having a laugh about us British and our tea addiction .I have a faint smile at least Ant's trying to keep her happy.
I knock Ben's door.
"Oi you"
Door swings open and I get a massive bro hug .
"So how are you going Granda?"
"Stop it Dec"
"Listen can I talk to you for a bit?"
"Sure what's up? You finally telling Gemma you love her or something?"
He bites his tongue as he realises what he's just said
"No no that's not the thing wait, what? You know about it?"
"Oh damn I've let the cat out of the bag. I've known it since I was kid anyways what's the matter?"
"Stephen's been cheating on Gemma"
There's no change in his expressions. I wait a few seconds for a reaction but when I fail to get one I continue
"Me and Ant saw him hooking up with his agent in the iTV car park. When we confronted him he said he's never once been loyal in the past four years"
"I knew it all along" he says in the almost inaudible tone
"Damnit Ben! Why didn't you tell me then?"
"Look at her Declan just look at her! She's head over heals in love with him. After our parents passed away she's given up on her likings to make my life stable. Why would I want to break her again? Besides you never told you how you feel and I know she wouldn't believe me even if I told her about Stephen but now that you're here please sort this out Dec! Don't mess around anymore you love her and she needs you "
"You've grown up way to quick little one" there's tint of tears in my eyes as I leave Ben's room and make my way back to the living room
"Here's your tea Dec mate" she hands me over a cup I place it on the table . As she's about to return to the kitchen. I hold her hand she stops and looks at me
"Gemma sit down for a minute"
She does not ask me why and quietly takes a seat next to me.
"Alright now you two what is it?"
"Anth" I look at him to begin a conversation
"I want you to be strong about this pet and promise me you're not gonna hurt yourself in anyway Gemma the thing is"
"Stephen's been cheating on you" I end Ant's statement . Gem's burst into laughter by now
"Where's the camera now!
Stop stiching me up you two"
"I'm not joking Gem for heaven sake stop laughing and listen to me " I shout
"Stephen has been cheating on you all this while ok he does not love you he's been using you to keep his star power"
The laughter on her face is replaced by tears and shock
"It cannot be"
"This is how it is. Me and Dec saw him making out with his agent in iTV's parking lot this morning"
"I'm not gonna believe this unless Stephen tells us about it from his own mouth"
"Too right don't believe them baby"
Stephen enters outta no where. Ant hold my hand to stop me from hitting Stephen again.
"iTV offered me a new deal but these two couldn't take the limelight shifting out of their hands. They said they'd ruin my personal life and wreck my professional assets. Dec's fallen in love with you and it's just their plan to tear us apart so he can get to you and take me down believe me" He reaches his phone and plays a voice message I had sent him possibly a few months ago I was obviously too drunk that night
"Hey Stephen I just wanted to tell you Gemma isn't doing well and I hate to see her in this state so better get yourself together son else I'm gonna kill you! I fucking love her"

"Fucking hell. That's absolutely crap Gemma me and Dec were there we've seen him with Rachel he's bluntly lying"
Ant tries to explain while I'm just too shocked about the fact that I did something as stupid as sending Stephen a voice message like that.
"Can you prove that Ant?"
"Can I what?" Ant begins to shout.
"Can you prove it that Stephen was cheating on me with Rachel?"
"So you are telling me you believe this dickhead over me and Declan eh? Brilliant! Just brilliant! Let's get out of here Dec she isn't in her senses" Ant completely lost patience with her.
There's evil grin on Stephen's face. I completely lose it and land a punch on his lower jaw. Unprepared for the blow Stephen hits the ground
"Declan! Leave my house right now"
Gemma kneels down and hugs Stephen. I watch all of this in pain and silently start to walk away. Ant's already left the house by now.
Ben rushes down the steps
"Gemma are you fucking blind?"
"If you want you can leave as well"
"Fine then. Stay here and suffer this jerk for the rest of your life. If you ever want to apologise I'll be at Dec's place"
All three of us sit in my car and head over to my place.
"Right what the hell are we gonna do now!" Ant's still got quite a high tone while talking
"Haven't you seen she's blindly trusting that fool over us! Over people who've known her for so long" Ben whines
"It's because she loves him and I'm not upset that she's reacted that way" Ant and Ben look at me with horror .
"How the hell is that justified Declan?" Ant screams at me
"I never told her I love her now that she does know I've hidden it for this long it's evident that she'll trust Stephen over me"
"So we'll let it be this way aye?" Ant asks
"No we won't . I will find a way to expose Stephen. I have to save my best friend"
