"Daddy?" My daughter walked in holding her doll. "Yes Princess?" "Why do we move to Califownia?" I sighed. "Baby...we have to leave to be closer to family." I sat her on my lap. "But, then I won't be able to see Mommy." She looked at me with big eyes.
I sighed. "Charlene, Mommy knows you love her. She knows that I love her and she loves us, too. And Mommy will be with you when you need her." She gave me a puzzled look. "How Daddy?" I pointed to her chest. "As long as you keep her in your heart, she'll be there." She placed her hand on my finger. "Right Here?" I nodded. "Right There."
She smiled, but it quickly faded. "But...we still won't get to see her eweryday, though." Her voice saddened. "What if we come see her on her birthday and on Mother's Day. Will that make you feel better?" She nodded and smiled brightly. Just like her mother. She looked down and pointed to her chest. "I love you, Mommy...and Daddy loves you, too."
