"YAY!" They all shouted in unison after I stupidly agreed to 'try' to do what they wanted me to. Wait. I don't even know what they want me to do! What am I thinking. UGH!! "Haha... Yaaaaay..." I kinda sat there while they all talked jibberish to each other. "So. Um. Guys?" I started. They all turned to me at once with sly smiles showing on their faces. "Yes?", Said Snowy, stepping forward, closer to me than anyone has done so far. "Um. What is it that you need me to do?" I said stepping back awkwardly from Snowy who's breath I could feel down my neck. "Oh, you'll find out." Owlette replied with a devious smile on her face. "But, why doesn't she get some rest first." Leeona said calmly, pushing Owlette to the side and looking at me sweetly. Thank the Lord.....

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEEEEEEP!!... I groan as I slump out of bed and smack my alarm off. I rub my forehead trying to get rid of the terrible migraine I have just woken up to. Ugh.... I slowly doze back off....... SCHOOL! I check my alarm, 7:20 Crap! I'm late!!! Noo! Not the first day!!! I dart to get dressed, throwing on blue jeans and a lavender top, and grabbing my backpack as a dash out of my bedroom. I skid into the kitchen, coming to a abrupt halt, making me ram straight into the fridge. Oh jeez. Common Bri. "OW!" I screeched. I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!! I grab a muffin, a hairbrush, and hug my parents goodbye and check myself in the mirror before I run out the house.

WHAT. NO. NO WAY. NO. I looked closer, in horror. There it was, I giant red mark left on the center of my forehead. NOO. THIS CAN'T HAPPEN ON THE FIRST DAY!! Wow. My luck. I run back up to my room, grabbing my concealer and hoping that will cover the mess. I run out the house, finally, already 10 minutes late for class. I dart across the paved sidewalk, dodging people as I go.

As I ran, I grabbed my concealer and rubbed some on my 'boo boo', rubbing it in to try and cover it up. Hopefully that did the trick. I shoved the muffin in my mouth, not looking ahead of me when, bam. I fell straight on my side a few feet from the sidewalk onto the..... The street! I turn my head quickly, seeing a car speeding (past the speed limit) right toward my head. No, no, no. I'll take the bruise. I will. I swear. Please let me live. But I knew the car was going way to fast to get up in time. It neared, getting closer, closer, closer....

I open my eyes to a bright white space. Great. I died. "Umm. Hello? Girl?? Are you ok??? Girl, wake up now. People are staring.", a hushed, male voice said. What. I groaned, letting whoever this is know that I can hear him. Suddenly, a car horn and many voices start to fade in. "Miss.... Lady. Umm. Are you ok??? I really have to get to class, I'm already late and it's the first day. Miss??" I heard the voice again. Then, it all comes back. First day, bruise, late, school, car... It all hit me. "OH MY GOSH!" I blurt out, a little light headed but still able to move. "IM SORRY!" I try to get up, but once I get on my feet, they give out again.  He catches me, fairly quickly...good reflexes. "Whoah!  Um. Are you sure you're okay?" He asks again, with me in a dip position in his arms. "Yeah! I'm really sorry, again." I stated, trying to get out of this awkward position.

That's when I saw who it was.... "C-Clay?!" Oh. My. God. No. This can't be happening. My heart started thumping out of my chest, and suddenly I couldn't think straight. "Uh. Yeah. Hey.... Sorry I kinda... Bumped you into the road." And he chuckled, but then looked at the ground. Oh no. He's talking to me. This can't be good. Wait. What did he even say. Crap. You're such an idiot Brianne.  "Uh. Yeaaaaaaaahhh. I like that too!" I said, trying to keep it cool. "What?" He questioned, looking quite puzzled at my answer. "Um. Yeah. Thanks. No hard feelings. Bye!" Then I ran to school.

Dang Brianne. Why would you do that? Just run away?! That was your chance! About a block away from the school, still running, I turned my head looking for Clay. I wonder if he's still on that corner. Nope. He was running a few feet behind me. Oh crap. Shouldn't have turned my head. Now I'm going to do someth-bang. Owwwwwwww. What even was that? I look up at whatever I just smacked into. A pole. Wow. I'm officially blind. I back away, not realizing how dizzy I was, and rub my forehead. Nice way of getting rid of the red mark, Bri.

He stopped next to me again, catching his breath. "Ha! Would you look at that.  You been having a little bit of trouble moving around lately?" He said, full of sarcasm. "U-Uh. Haha. Yeah.... I guess so..." Really? That's the best you can do??? I guess so?????? Ugh. I put my hand to my forehead again, but right as the tip of my finger touched it, it hurt. It hurt like someone had just full-on shot me in the head. "Ah! Jeez!" I screamed, pain shooting through my body.

"Heh", he said smiling at my pain, "welp, you and I better get to class. We are already 30 minutes late, so why not be late together, eh?"

I could feel the tomato red in my cheeks rising all the way up to my bruised forehead. "Uh, y-yeah, sure."

Stupid, stupid, stupid. That's all I thought walking with Clay to school, which was only a block away. We made small talk, but I stuttered every word. EVERY WORD! Why am I such a klutz??

•••time skip-school•••

I walked into class...... With Clay.  We scurried to our seats, hoping the teacher wouldn't notice, but of course, she did. "Well, Miss. Brianne and Mr. Clayton, can you explain why you are late?" She said this still facing the chalk board, which kinda backs up the whole 'eyes on the back of head' thing.

"Um. No Ma'am. I just woke up late, sorry. It won't happen again." I smiled a fake smile, hoping she didn't stare at me to long.

   "Good. You may be seated."

"Oh, girl. You sly, sneaky girl." Leilani (lay-lawn-E) said, poking my side. "You totally just spent 30 minutes with the boy of your dreams, you realize that, right?"

"Yeah..." I blushed then sighed. "It seemed like forever."

Leilani is my best friend, the only person in my grade who has stood by my side this whole time. She has black, shoulder length hair, and about the same height as me. She is very intelligent, mainly with technology (which I'm terrible at). I'm kinda shy, but she's the most outgoing person you will ever meet. The best part is, it's been the world against us all our lives, it seems and we have stuck together.

The bell rang 20 minutes after, and we went to change our books.

Holy crap. 63 reads, really?????? I didn't think my book was that good!!!!!! Wow guys, thanks SOOOOOOOO MUCH!
Anyways, sorry for the super late update; I had a HUGE writers block, a LOT of ballet rehearsals, and A LOT of school junk. I know that's a terrible excuse though. Sorry (~_~)
I dedicate this chapter to LeilaniVictoria03 , my best ugly unipegollamagus in the world. Hugs and kisses my tree huggerz!
