Kayden was perhaps very unnerved when I mentioned the attack on Mr. Morgan's house. "So..what now??," she asked. "I don't know but there's a lot we have to do now," I said. "The wolves want to start some kind of war between one another just to weed out the traitor and I am not ready to spill more innocent blood." She sighed, "I sent the word to another druid who passed it to Mr. Morgan. Just waiting for his reply. Also..you may be a little upset at me but, I called in back up." I glanced at her as my eyes widened, "Back up..? For what? And whom??" She smiled at me, "Remember my cousins from Hawaii and the one who thought you were kind of cute??" I placed my face in my palm, "Oh god..not them. They may make this all a lot worse than where it is." She laughed, "Oh come on they're not that bad.. Well at least I don't think so...." I slouched back into the couch, "If they come promise me you will keep an eye on them." She gave a nod, "Of course~ By the way the one that liked you apparently has someone now so don't worry about it." I turned my head to look outside. It was storming just like the weather guy predicted. But it seems like bad weather is followed by bad omens. The fact that my uncle tried to kill me because of his shame of me being of wolf blood born in a manner of speaking despised him. It also made me feel like shit when I found out I was useless. It hurt to know he was leading me on only to set this up. My death. My eyes teared up for some reason. Before I knew it was crying. "Urie, what's wrong??," she asked me. "I..I don't know..I just don't know how to keep being strong. It's all my fault," I choked out. She patted my back gently, "It's not..perhaps this is your destiny. You have a heart deep down pumping wolf blood through your veins..and you also have the soul of a hunter. Urie..you're meant to do something great. Perhaps even something to steer us in the right path and I think it will end up worth it all in the end because of that..." I rubbed my eyes and pulled the knit blanket around me more. "I'm going to rest now..," I said quietly. Kayden nodded, "Alright, I'll see you tomorrow... Hopefully when things die down you will see what I mean." She hugged me tightly and walked out turning off the light as the living room lap stayed on. I curled up as tight as I could. The rain on the roof, and hitting the windowsill put me to sleep. Tomorrow will be a much more annoying I'm sure. But at least I got the emotions out the way today so I can focus better tomorrow.
The next morning, I could vaguely hear Kayden talking to someone as I was between sleeping and being awake. It wasn't just someone it was three familiar voices that I haven't heard since childhood. "Shhh!! Don't come in so loudly he is still asleep..," Kayden warned them as they walked in noisly despite her warning. "Aww man..he still looks the same. Literally!!," said one of the oldest ones. "Knock it off!! She said be quiet!!," the middle one said. "Too late..I'm up..," I said in a low tone as I began to sit up and rub my eyes. I stared at three tall men before me. One was the oldest most built named Kale. He smiled his winning grin at me his facial structure was pretty strong but in his eyes was a gleam of softness to those he loved and knew. The second oldest who was the one Kayden mentioned Kaine he was always kind of arrogant and always about himself. And why wouldn't he be?? He was fairly good looking like his older brother but his features were soft in the right places. His eyes were narrow and he always wore a careless expression for someone who cares a lot for those who he love. The youngest, who had a wide smile almost ear to ear. He was also impatient and his eyes were big and round. He was still cute even though the cuteness had developed into more masculine feel. He looked determined now, no longer the crybaby I remember that trotted behind us and crying over falling on his face or stepping on an insect. Kaz. Kayden's aunt loved Kayden's 'Ka' so much that she named them all along the following terms. "Brother!!," they all shouted and the oldest picked me up and hugged the life out of me. "Ca..Can't..breathe..," I exhaled sharply. He put me down and they all smiled at me. "Who would have guess you would side with the Druids..," Kale exclaimed. Kaine folded his arms and adjusted a long narrow case on his shoulder and I could only guess it was a spear or some sort of narrow weapon as such. He walked towards the door, "I'll be back. I need to set up some protection close by." Kayden scoffed, "Not even two hours passed when I picked you up from the airport and you're acting like a butthole." He sighed sharply and glanced back at us, and pulled something from one of the pockets on his suit, "You already forgotten our sacred duty to protect the land?? Written here clearly states what is more important." He showed a old piece of animal skin that was dried out to be used as paper. Kaz sighed, "He's right, let's go and do this. Then we will come back to eat!!" He stood up went to follow Kaine out, but Kale stopped him. "Kaz, you stay by Urie and Kayden's side. You assist them with whatever it is they may need..," Kale exclaimed. Kaz nodded once. Once they left, I got up and got ready. After Kayden and I geared up, we began to head out as well as Kaz followed behind. "So, since they have started on taking out the traps.. We should look for the wolves. I want to make sure the situation hasn't gotten severe," I told them. Kayden nodded and marked a tree with red clay, "We meet back up here after we have safely secured the area." I smiled at Kayden and Kaz, "Guys..if we don't meet up here..I want you both and everyone to know--" Kayden hugged me tightly then flicked my forehead, "Shut up, we'll be fine." I rubbed my forehead as watched her dart towards the west. Kaz patted my shoulder and gave me a grin, then waved as he walked backwards a few steps before darting off to the east. "Whew.. Okay.. Guess I will head North..," I said as stared up at the tree memorizing it before I took off. I traveled at a decent fast pace darting through the woods, and I could hear some wolves following alongside not too far away. I kept going not letting them distract me. The scents drew closer and I stopped at a clearing and almost slipped down a slippery muddy slope but I was grabbed by someone familiar. He pulled me from falling and I stood up looking him in the eyes. It was Kaine he scoffed, "Watch your step, Kaikua'ana..." I sighed sharply then I heard a low growl and saw Ayd lounge at Kaine. I pushed Kaine out of the way and we rolled over on the dry leaves before I stood up and held my hands out towards Ayd. "S..Stop!! Ayd!! Sebastian!! He's a dru--," before I could utter the words he lounged at Kaine again and they both were at a standoff. Kaine just barely dodged the jaws of Ayd and got nicked in the process. "Stop!!! Guys!!," I shouted and stood between them. Kaine shoved me aside, "Kaikua'ana, he may be rabid.. Move I can take him." Ayd bellowed a low raspy growl that sounded like a chuckle. "No, Stop!! I know him!!," I shouted again. Kaine glanced at me, "Wha--" Ayd lounged once more and Kaine pushed me out of the way as I could hear Ayd's jaw clamp down on something. I peered over in shock and Ayd's teeth were locked into a old wooden staff. It had different runes carved in it that immediately began glowing as Ayd's teeth didn't leave a mark on it's bark. Kaine used his strength to shove Ayd off. And Ayd growled at him ready to attack again. I stood with my arms outstretched in front of him. Ayd growled as a warning for me to move but I didn't. "He's..He's a druid..," I breathed. Ayd growled and glared coldly at Kaine as he walked off into the forest. I looked Kaine over, "Are you hurt??" I checked his arms and he shoved me, "Stop." Sebastian appeared in front of us, "You could have told me there would be more druids assisting us..." I rubbed my arm, "Well it's new to me. Kayden had told me yesterday. I guess she knew something bad would happen.." Sebastian glared at Kaine still, then pulled me by my arm over next to him. Kaine rolled his eyes, "Look.. I have someone back home. So don't worry about me taking your precious.. "Complexion" okay?? He is just a brother. Kaikua'ana..." Kale looked at me then Sebastian, "I'll continue going on. I still have more area to cover." He walked over to a nearby tree and touched it as and a light breeze blew as a thin layer of a guiding seal show and radiated a little around us. He then continued walking onward. It was a guidance ward for the wolves to help them come and go safely also helps them avoid the traps. "Wait.. Kai—," I started and Sebastian moved in front of me. "Don't do anything stupid.. you said yet here you are relying on the druids more than the wolves," he said. He was angry, so angry that his hair started to static. "It's not my idea..wasn't even part of my plan. But now it is..it's a much better one than what you had planned. Killing one another to find maybe a handful of traitors if not one or two??," I retorted. He sighed and held my hand, "I don't want to argue with you... I know what I'm doing.." I looked at the tree with the visible seal, "And I do too.. so we have to learn to trust each other. But... I want less lives killed over this as possible." He chuckled, "Stuff like this happens a lot if not every decade.. and it is a little odd to hear someone say that as if it really is an option. As if..it can really be avoided.." I was so annoyed. I got his side, but at the same time I didn't. Yes, I may have been new to this whole thing but these things can be avoided, with the right plans. I know it can, and I wouldn't want the same thing to happen to me or Kayden or anyone I care about. I rather than not happen at all. They mean a lot to me, and not just them but those that are involved. The town not too far from here. People will be killed. Innocent people. And once that happens it's over. The wolves won't be safe and nor would the druids. They would be killed off. hunted, and destroyed. I don't want that. "It..can be avoided. If you only tried..if you only thought up a better plan than the current one you have," I said. He sighed, "In any case, our Great One most likely could help us. Guide us in a better direction.." I walked beside him in the forest as we continued onward a wolf suddenly attacked Sebastian. It was rabid. Not only was it rabid, but numerous more were rabid. There were possibly fiver rabid wolves coming towards us. He shoved the wolf off and glared at me, "GO!! RUN!! I'LL TAKE THEM TO THE CLIFF!!" I didn't want to leave him, "No!! I can help you!!" He half shifted and growled at me, "DON'T BE STUPID URIE RUN!!" Just as I was going to draw my blade, a loud sound like thunder rolled in and it struck into the ground. It threw the wolves into a frenzy as they were stunned and confused and began attacking one another. From the forest Kale, Kaine, and Kaz as well as Kayden appeared and helped me out as Sebastian who fully shifted swerved the other way. The wolves that were attacking one another began to chase after Sebastian and Ayd. They were in such a frenzy that anything that made a noise they attacked. The rabid wolves were being slaughtered left and right by one another. "We have to get out of here!!," Kayden shouted as we all ran far away as we could. The noise was painful to hear. Just then a hunter jumped out and tried to take us down. It was three of them. Kale and Kaine stunned them both with their rune etched staffs and we continued until we came to a few large abandoned cages. Big enough for wolves. "Are they planning on capturing and torturing them??," Kayden asked. "No..these are cages for the rabid wolves..," I answered. "Oh no..I feared they would use that method. They're drowning them out with rabid wolves." I gritted my teeth, "Who knows how many of these cages they have... We have to go back.." Just as we were going to go back, I heard the familiar click of guns. "Hands up idiots..," Ethan smirked as he jabbed his pistol at the back of my head. I followed my hands behind my head, and glanced as Kale, Kaine, and Kaz did the same thing. Kayden was nowhere to be seen. A hunter walked up to Ethan, "Um..sir I lost sight of the female druid..." Ethan glared at him and with a psychotic smirk he easily shot him in the head. The gunshot made me cringe. "I thought I told you to cool it..," came a familiar voice I knew too well. It was Lana. She walked forward, her long red hair in a short uneven cut. Her eyes pierced at me as she saved no time into grabbing my shirt and glaring me in the eyes. "I missed you..so much..," she smirked then shoved me down. She scratched with her gun against the side of her shaved head, "I had to come all the way from Romania..to find you." She put it in her holster and grinned wildly at me as she held me back up again, "My..father.. you little shit." She punched me again, and then kicked me a few times in my gut. "Uhh, don't we need them to lead us to the others..??," Ethan asked. Lana glanced at him and Ethan looked down then back up at her as he swallowed. Kale and Kaine began to slip their hands slowly into one of their pockets. They were going to use a smokescreen so they can escape. When Ethan had spoke she started beating up on him. She punched him over and over as the blood flowed from his nose and mouth. All the while taking the idea into something fun. He was enjoying it. And cackling like a madman the entire time. She shoved him down and began kicking him. Just as she did that Kaine and Kale threw down the smokescreen bombs and we scattered. I covered my mouth and nose looking for Kayden. But Kayden found me first and I followed her deeper into the forest. I could hear Lana's frustrated scream almost a mile away. My heart was beating fast, and I almost thought I would die from fright. I was scared. Very scared. It's been so long since I seen her, and I know what she is capable of. She seemed a lot less unstable now than before. "Is..Is everyone okay..?," Kale asked. I nodded, "Yes..I am.." Kaine also nodded too, "Yes..but I could have sworn I heard gunshots as we were fleeing..." "GUYS!!!," Kayden shouted. We ran to where she was and she was hold on to Kaz who had severe gunshot wounds in his torso. Kaz coughed up blood and Kayden held his head in her lap as she cried, "Kaz..it's going to be okay..we're going to..we're.." Kaz looked up at all our faces and smiled warmly. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a flower. One similar to the ones he used to collect when he was little and when he would stay here. He remembered the flower exactly and it was beautiful. He smiled and handed it to me. I swallowed hard as there was a burning sensation in my throat. It hurt so much and I knew I usually felt it when I was going to cry. He grabbed my arm and looked me in the eyes putting the flower in my hand. Blood was all over the petals and it no longer had it's color anymore. "K..Kaikua'ana...," he muttered quietly. The color was blood red from his own blood. He moved his hand back over his chest and his eyes stared off. The happy gleam I remember seeing before I didn't see anymore. It made me so angry. Just like that he was gone. Kale had his arms folded and his tears fell silently as I could hear the anger welling up inside of him. He was gone. Kaine punched a nearby tree and the leaves shook out of it. He moved his hands through his hair and shouted out in anger scaring nearby birds. They couldn't do the full ritual but ended up being able to burn his body. He burned. And as he did so, we all stood in silence watching. Kaine was full of anger. Now, more than ever. He didn't watch the rest he started off going deeper into the forest. I followed behind him, "Kaine..I..take full responsibility fo--" He shoved me against a tree and placed his hand up against it near my face. He smacked it there so hard that a few of the leaves shook off. "Shut up..," he said as his eyes pierced through me. Kayden moved in between us,"It's not his fault and you know it!!" Kaine rolled his eyes and shoved past me and I felt a hole in me that felt like it would consume me inside and out. We all began to continue on in the forest the wolves were going crazy and the stable wolves were trying their best to put up a fight. All the while I felt empty and I worried for Sebastian and Ayden's safety. "We have to find a clearing to end this!!," Kayden shouted as she threw wolves bane into the eyes of a rabid wolf. We faught off a small pack of of the rabid wolves just as a beautiful gray wolf with white paws showed herself. It was Stone and she disappeared into the woods along the side of the stream. "WAIT!! STONE!!," I shouted as I ran towards the stream crossing it. "KAI'KUAANA!!," Kale shouted. Kaine shoved him, "He is no longer our brother!!" I rushed through the water and into the trees as I could hear Kale and Kaine argue. Kayden was shouting for me to come back but I had a bad feeling as I followed Stone through the trees.
