A/N: I hope you enjoyed the last chapter! I am super excited to continue on writing this. There is so much potential with this storyline it's unbelievable. Like you may have noticed, not everything is the same as in the show, but that is the point! If everything was the same it would be boring and unoriginal. Now I will let you get to reading the story! Thank you so much for reading this! I appreciate the support.
"Cas?" Dean couldn't believe the man on the street, covered in dirt, with a beard, was the angel that had raised him from hell just three years earlier. He had his thumb up. He was hitchhiking. Dean pulled over and got out of the car. Sam--Ezekiel--was passed out in the back seat.
"Dean?" The angel said, lowering his thumb and making his way towards the hunter.
"How--how'd you find me?"
"I was just headed to the bunker. I had to take Sam to the hospital. Why didn't you answer my prayers?" He looked down at the man that had taken him from hell. He was all holy and a servant to heaven. Now he looked like a hobo.
"And why are you trying to hitch a ride?"
Cas opened his mouth as if to say something, then closed it again, obviously changing his mind about what he was going to say. "I--I'm human, Dean."
"What?" He took a step towards Cas.
"Metatron he--" Cas looked away from Dean. He couldn't stand the embarrassment of the situation.
"What did that angel son of a b--"Dean stopped mid-sentence when Cas' sky blue eyes looked up at his, filled with sadness.
"Metatron betrayed me. He--he used me. I was just a pawn in his game to expel all angels out of heaven." Cas broke his gaze with Dean and stared at a leaf in the distance. "He took my grace."
He felt a hand on his shoulder and moved his eyes back to the man in front of him. "So your telling me that you helped Metatron remove all angels from heaven and he stole your angel mojo so now your human, with every single angel from heaven hot on your trail?"
He nodded.
"Well that's brilliant, Cas. Absolutely brilliant."
Cas tilted his head to the side. "I don't see how that could possibly be classified as brilliant. It's downright idiotic. I am an abomination to my kind. A disgrace."
"Cas, don't say that. While every angel up there in that fairy world obeyed the orders they were given without knowing why they were doing them, you thought of what may happen to us humans down here. Your not a disgrace. Just because you don't have your grace, just because your angel pals aren't in heaven anymore, doesn't mean that you're an abomination. No. I will not hear that. You were suicidal once, after eating too many leviathans for breakfast and going on a killing spree claiming yourself as God, and I don't want to see you like that again." Dean put his hand on Cas' back and guided him to the passenger side. "Now hop in. You look like you could use some rest. And a shower."
Dean was driving the impala down the road, humming Nirvana while Cas and his brother--no Ezekiel--slept. He didn't know what to call him. Apparently he had gone in his brother's mind and pretended to be him in order for him to say yes. He didn't know anything else. He didn't know what he said that made his brother agree to being possessed by an angel. The last time that happened, it didn't end well for any of them.
It was dusk and Dean had been driving for 12 hours straight, only stopping when he picked Cas up. They stopped at a gas station about 20 minutes after he picked him up so that his friend could get something to eat and use the bathroom. He also had to fill his baby up with fuel to get them to the bunker.
