We headed back to camp soon after and went our different ways. I headed for the showers in the nurses quarters. We have gotten ten more nurses since I arrived. Me and Peci were the head nurses. Today was Sunday though, my day off. Saturday was Peci's. The rest of the girls had two days off. I was getting redressed when the air sirens went off again. I headed into the nurses tent and saw all the girls hugging in the middle of the room.

"First Air Raid?" They all looked at me and nodded. "Everyone back in bed please." They all obeyed me and covered up tightly. "Things will be fine." The ground shook and I looked at the youngest girl. She was sixteen. I don't understand why they sent her here, but they did. I think her father was a big time doctor or something. I sat on her bed and pushed her hair back. She was shaking in terror.
"Could you talk, hum, sing....." She whispered.
"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger,
Stand a little taller,
Doesn't mean I'm lonely,
When I'm alone."
All their eyes closed.
"What doesn't kill you makes a fighter,
Footsteps even lighter,
Doesn't mean I'm over,
Cause your gone.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
I sang quietly, but it was enough for them. They all started humming the song though the sirens. I grinned and climbed into bed.
"We will make it though another day." Someone whispered.
"Just imagine, we aren't even in the fields. Were far behind the lines." The girl sat up. Dara.
"What?"
"You guys don't ever go to the lines. Me and P are the only two allowed. There is so much blood. So many thing you havn't seen. They aren't out for us. They're out for them. You have to leave people you have no chance of saving. They tell you too. Leave me. Leave me. We load them up anyways unless half their blood is drained. They normally die on the ride in and we have to push them out to pick up the ones trailing behind. There are so many already dead." I whispered.
"You have to trust that they died for a reason."
"Yeah. I do."
