"Mom?!" No answer. "Megan?!" Still no answer. On the kitchen counter was her phone, how does someone leave their phone at home? The last call was to Shoshona, I pushed the dial button.
"Helloooooo?" She was totally drunk, and there was a lot of noise in the background.
"Is my mom with you. I need her now!" I said impatiently.
"Is this Megan's little spitfire child?" She laughed.
"Excuse me? Can you please get Megan on the phone?"
"Hmm, it looks like she's busy. But if you're nice I'll put her in the phone."
"I'm really not into games right now, I just need to talk to my mom." I could hear Megan's laughter in the background. "You know I can hear her, right?"
"Here you go little one." She handed the phone to Megan.
"What?" She giggled.
"You need to come home right now."
"Why? I just started having fun, I'm not so caught up in drama."
"You are drunk." I spit.
"So? I'm a grown woman."
"Mom..." I was about to cry. She started to mumble something to Shoshona and then hung up.
"BITCH!" I yelled into the phone. My room door was open, so I ran into its arms and slammed the door.
"FUCK YOU! WHY ARE YOU NEVER HERE?!" I cried, and found the blade. It had been calling my name.
'Maybe she doesn't want you. That's why she isn't here. She tells everyone about your mistakes. Actually, you are one big mistake, remember?' The voice in my head lingered.
"You're right." I said, taking the blade to my arm, and making four fresh cuts. I smiled at the blood, at the pain, and at this stupid world who gave me a horrible mother.

I woke up two hours later to Megan and Shoshona stumbling home and making as much noise as possible. Apparently Brian had come home while I was sleeping and went out to them.
"Oh my god Megan! You still have this?!" There was a crash. "Oops! I guess not anymore." Both started laughing again.
"It's nice to see you Shoshona, but it's late. Do you want me to call a cab?" Brian asked politely.
"Oh, sure. I hope this one speaks English! It is so annoying when I can't understand what they are saying!"
My arm. Shit. There was so much blood, some had even gotten on the floor. My sweatshirt was on the bed, pulling it over my head I walked out the bedroom door.
"Oh Eden! You are so beautiful! You look just like your mother. Oh my god!" Shoshona started to walk towards me.
"Hey Sho. Your cab is here." Brian motioned to the door.
"Oh! She grabbed her bag, "Now where is my phone? Oh there it is! Bye Meg! Love you!" She gave Megan a kiss on the the cheek, and went out the door. I slipped into the bathroom, and took a better look at the cuts. The first two had already scabbed over and seemed fine, but the other two were somewhat deep and still had a small trickle of blood leaking. I took some tissue and wiped it up, then found the band aids and patched it all up. I grabbed another washcloth and took it into my room to clean up the stain.
Blood is a hard stain to get out with soap and water, I learned that the hard way. Eventually it did come out though, and I put the rag in the hamper.
