Olivia's POV

Today marked the 4th consecutive day that I had endured a sleepless night. I was scared, agitated, but above all, restless. I was worried sick about Hunter, there was no denying that.

Ever since I had found out that Jack was the one who was holding him captive, I'd been blaming myself. It was my fault that he was in there. Everything was my fault. It always was.

I contemplated whether I should go out and face reality or whether I should spend another day hiding in my room, shutting the world out.

Right now, my life looked bleak, almost as bleak as the dark curtains drawn by the window. I looked through the rain splattered glass, watching the cars drive by. I thought back to the past few months that I had been here and everything that I'd done. The lying, the cutting, the cover up.

All I wanted was to be with Hunter.

I didn't mean for any of this to happened.  I didn't mean for any of this to become so complicated. I wish I had never met Jack, because if I had never met Jack, then Hunter wouldn't be in the position that he was in now.

Jack was the devil in human form. He still is.

But then again, if I had never met Jack, I would have never met Hunter because I would never have decided to come to Summer Bay.

I came to Summer Bay for a fresh start. At least, that's what I would tell all the new faces that I would happen to encounter. For the most part, that statement was true. I did come to Summer Bay for a fresh start, but it was more then that. I came to Summer Bay to escape my demons, to escape my past. I came to Summer Bay to escape Jack.

Hunter's POV

"You can go home today if you'd like."

"What?"

"I said, you can go home today if you'd like," the girl I had been recently introduced to, who I had learnt was named Emily, repeated.

"What?"

"I said-"

"I know what you said! I'm just confused that's all," I cut her off. "Did Jack said I was allowed to go home today?"

"No, he didn't," she trailed off. "But why should you be here when you don't have to be?"

"What are you implying?"

"I'm busting you out of here!"

I was shocked at first when I was told that I could go home, and I instantly thought that there had to be a catch. There was.

Breaking out of the warehouse I was being kept in seemed daunting enough, but knowing that I was doing it without the consent of Jack terrified me.

"Now?" I asked hesitantly.

"Well, do you enjoy staying here?" she said smugly, cocking an eyebrow.

"No."

"So what are you waiting for? Let's go!"

I don't even know why I was letting myself trust her. I knew nothing about her, except that her name was Emily, and that she had something to do with Jack.

I guess, the best way to learn if you could trust somebody was to trust them. So that's what I was going to do.

***

"It's now or never. 3, 2 ,1 JUMP!"

I fell to my knees as I tumbled out of the two story building. I screamed in agony, unable to feel my legs.

"Hunter! Are you alright?"

As I lay on the grass outside the warehouse, finally exposed to light, I saw Emily's face for the first time.

"It's you. You're Olivia's sister."
