Everyone wants exposure

Everyone wants exposure. But if everyone's fighting each other for it, no one will get exposure. Or maybe just the one percent that manage to squeeze through. If this sharing experience is going to work, everyone has to step outside their bubbles and extend a hand to their fellow writer.

Leave comments that are genuine. Even if it's a one word reaction. If you don't like a part or feel that it's full of errors, leave suggestions to the reader so they can clean up their work. On Wattpad, vote trading is taboo, but if you see yourself as being in a fraternity-esque environment, wouldn't you want to help your fellow brother or sister out?

Because at the end of the day, reads and votes are really abstract(technically concrete 1's and 0's), things that an algorithm calculates to judge whether a book is "hot" or not. Reads are simply inflated statistics. The real joy for the writer should come in seeing their work read. When others vote on your work, no matter the intention, it serves the purpose of sailing your book to wider pastures.

Use this page as a tool, not as a magic wand. You still have to make the effort. I'll soon do my own advertising to get your books in front of readers, but that will come later.

Remember, "  do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
