How could she? What kind of demon spawn was she? Normally I brush those feelings away, but how could I this time? She just embarrassed me so bad in front of Jamie. Speaking of Jamie, I feel the truck door opening and a hand turning me to face him. He was so sweet. Why does Noah hate him? He treats me so great. He just holds me. He makes me feel wanted and special. Soon enough, he picks up my chin and looks me in my eyes and says," Hun, stop. None of that was true. It was wrong. Literally everything she said was wrong. You're not fat. You're not pregnant. You're perfect. Don't let her get to you."
He hugs me again. As I sit my head on his shoulder, I see Noah running out of the restaurant.
"Jorie, I'm so sorry. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." which is what every girl says when she wants to avoid her feelings, but guys are oblivious to that. Boys are stupid.
Noah then tells me that he had broken up with Amy, but was still giving her a ride home. Noah was a nice person. He wasn't going to leave her stranded, even though she deserves it. I give Noah a hug, tell him to be safe and apologize for everything I had said in return to Amy.
Noah left, and Jamie and I went back inside to eat, even though I didn't want to eat. She had scarred me for good.
We got done eating and just went to the park instead of the movies. We just weren't feeling the whole 'sitting in a dark room, holding hands, not talking' ordeal. We started walking around the park until we found my favorite swing set. It was like a movie. We talked for forever. It eventually got cold and he gave me his jacket. I checked the time and it was 11:25 p.m. On the way home, it was quite but not the awkward silence, the normal silence you get when your in the car with your mom.
"Why are you all the way over there?"
"What do you mean? I'm where the passengers of trucks or cars normally sit."
"But you're not a normal passenger. You're my girlfriend. Get over here." He pays the middle seat.
About twenty minutes later, we pulled into my driveway. Jamie opened the door for me, and offered his hand to help me out of his tall truck. Short bodies and tall trucks don't mix. As we reached my front porch, he turned towards me and smiled.
"Thank you so much for an amazing date, Jorie."
"I think you deserve all the thanks."
"No. Thats all you. It was definitely interesting. I haven't been able to open up to anyone like I do you."Is he really saying this or am I dreaming?
"That's what I was thinking earlier. I really enjoy your company."
I could see him bright eyes flash as I replied to his last comment. We stand there for a second, and suddenly, he leans in.
So many thoughts are going through my mind. This is my first kiss, what if it's bad? Oh my. I'm terrified but excited at the same time.
I slowly lean into his grasps. His hand removes my hair from my face and places his other hand on my arm. Suddenly, the screen door quickly opens.
"Howdy. Since I haven't met you yet, you're not allowed to kiss her."
"LUCAS. Go away."
"Okay, but I need to meet him soon." he exclaims as he shuts the door.
"I'm so sorry about him."
"It's okay, hun. Maybe we can do this some other time." he smiles.
"Maybe we can. Goodnight, James."
"Goodnight, Jorie."
I kiss him on the cheek and let him leave. This is definitely a night to remember..
