thief : a person who steals something

Emma woke up after what she thought was a very pleasant dream. She smiled at the thought of a ball and dancing, but most of all, the man she was dancing with. It's only when she saw the red dress on the chair next to her bed that it clicked. It wasn't a dream. All of it had really happened to her.
The night before, she had such a wonderful time. Dancing, laughing, smiling, everything was great! Killian had brought her back home and kissed her just before he left.
She sighed, but smiled as she remembered every good detail of the previous night.
She finally got up and changed, put her hood and got to the kitchen. The house was compleatly silent. Emma was alone since her mother was with David. She looked around for food, but they had nothing.
Suddently, she heard very pressing knock at the door. She got up and answered, finding a woman she had only seen once.
"I'm sorry, but I had no other option, could I?" Regina asked and Emma understood.
"Yeah, sure." Emma replied and opened the door compleatly to let her in. They both went to the kitchen and Emma took a look outside. She saw three gards a little farther, heading towards the river. "I think they are leaving." Emma said and Regina sighed.
"Thank you so much." she said.
"It's fine." Emma replied with a smile. "So, what did you steal?"
"Got a couple coins and some food. Not much." Regina explained and opened her satchel. "Here." she said and gave her some bread. "Have some."
"Well, I-" the blonde started. She was about to say no, but she was starving. It was stolen, but then again, she was a theif as well. "Thank you." she finally replied ans grabbed the loaf. She took a piece and smiled.
"It's the least I could do." Regina said. "And it looks like you needed some." she said, pointing the empty plate on the table.
"Yeah. I would probably have had to steal one anyway." she declared.
"Ah, so you're a thief as well." Regina pointed out.
"I just steal the food my mom and I can't afford." she explained. "It's our way of surviving."
"I guess we are more alike than we thought." the woman declared.
Another knock at the door was heard. Both of them froze for a second.
"Go hide in my room, just there!" Emma said and pointed the door. Maybe it could be guards. Regina ran to the door as Emma slowly walked over to the main entrance. She opened the door and sighed of relief.
"Come in. I just have a quick thing to do." she said.
"That's fine."
Emma quickly got to her room and opened the door.
"It wasn't any guard, you can come out." she said and Regina walked out of the shadows. She then pointed the dress on the chair.
"Beautiful dress. Probably worth a lot." she declared.
"It's uh- Nevermind." she said and turned on her heels to go back to the kitchen, followed by the thief. When Regina saw the lieutenant in his uniform, she stopped.
"You said no guard." she declared.
"You're that thief everyone is looking for!" Killian added.
"Killian is not a guard." Emma said to Regina.
"Well, he works for the King." she retorted.
"He's also my friend or... I don't know. And," she turned to face him. "I am not better than her. I'm a thief as well."
They all looked at Emma, as if she was going to say something else. Finally, Regina spoke up.
"Well, thanks again. I'll go." she declared as she headed to the door and left. Emma looked at the Killian and then at the ground.
"Sorry for that..." she mumbled.
"It's fine." Killian replied with a smile and she felt her cheeks turn red. She looked down. "So... I thought we might need to talk."
"About last night?" she asked as she then looked up to his beautiful blue eyes.
"Yes." he replied. "Well, maybe there is not much talking to do." he added. She grinned and did not take her eyes off him. She did not know what to do exactly, but she felt comfortable with him.
"I'd be fine with that." she replied and he grabbed both of her hands before stepping closer and pressing his lips on hers. They were interrupted by Emma's stomach growling and they both laughed.
"How about we go eat something?" he suggested.
"I won't say no." she replied.

"You have to go now?" she asked Killian as they were on their way back to Emma's small house.
"I'm sorry, I've got some planning for our next voyage to do with my brother and some other members of the crew." he explained.
"I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Of course." he grinned and kissed her cheek before pulling away. "Bye, Emma."
Emma kept on walking in the different direction, occasionaly touching her cheek where he had just kissed her. Happiness was all she was feeling at that moment.
Until she got to her house and saw the tax notice on her door. The limit to hand in the money was for two days later.
Emma already knew it was time to say goodbye.
Hi! Sorry it took so long but I was in Mexico so I didn't have the time to write! Plus, it's really bad cause I only had 5 hours of sleep in a plane last night xd
Anyway, hope it's not too bad! Comment what you think ;)
