Needless to say, I was a sore-eyed wreck the next day. After watching the movie, I trudged up the stairs still wiping off my tears after watching An Affair to Remember. I put on some foundation and hopefully no one would notice my red eyes or if they did, I hope they would think it was just some sort of allergic reaction.

I drove to school hoping that the tears wouldn’t come back as I re-enacted the scenes in my head. Another part of me hoped that half the school had watch the movie and was as red-eyed as I was.

Then something, or rather, someone, popped into my mind as I thought of Cary Grant and his character in the movie.

Harry.

I wonder if I would see him today, and if he would sit next to me in biology and psychology class. Truthfully, I didn’t want to admit that he intrigued me. After all, I’d only known him a day.

I parked the car and got out of it, and saw that Kelly was standing 3 parking spaces away from me, leaning against her red Volvo. She saw me and smiled, waving. I waved back and made my way over to her.

“Hey!” I said to her, as she gave me a bone crushing hug.

“What class do you have first?” she asked me, and I consulted my day planner.

In my mind, I gasped. I had AP Psychology first. Which meant – I would be seeing Harry. My inner goddess jumped for joy inside of me. However long I tried to keep that feeling out of me, it never ever worked.

“AP Psychology.” I said.

“Nice! I have Government. Can I be the first to say, EW?” she exclaimed, and we both laughed.

“Oh hey, that guy Harry, he’s in your class isn’t he?” she said, and a playful smile formed upon her lips.

“Yeah…” I said, hoping my expression and my little bubble of joy wouldn’t give me away.

“Mmm. Someone’s happy, I can tell. Even though you’re trying to hide it…” she said, shaking her pointer finger at me. She bid me goodbye, waving and walking along to class. I had to laugh at her. I saw three guys checking her out and wolf whistling.

I made my way to Psychology class with 10 minutes to spare and sat down where I sat the other day, and I hoped Harry would walk in any minute and take the seat next to me.

I was even contemplating on saving the seat for him, but I decided against it. It would probably make me look extremely desperate.

He came into the class and greeted me hello, smiling with his dimples showing and his green eyes glittering. Oh God, Jess, stop it. I shook the thoughts out of my head and greeted him back.

Not a moment later, Mr Gibbs walked into the class. I have to say for an old guy, he was really attractive and the way his suit hugs his body, makes it look sort of… hot. After him, a girl, tall and blonde and looked like a model. I could tell, without looking behind me that everyone was staring at her. Who was she? Whispers floated across the room.

“All right everyone,” Mr Gibbs said as he sat down on his desk and opened his book. “We have a new student here, and I hope you’ll all make her feel welcome. You remember how tough first days are. So make her feel comfortable! Alana, why don’t you come to the front and introduce yourself?”

(A/N: in this story, Blake Lively portrays Alana – hence the tall and blonde and model-like description I gave her.)

“Hi everyone, I’m Alana Bennett. I just moved here from New York and um, yeah. A fun fact about me is that I love eating Haribo candy. Especially the cola flavour,” she said, and everyone chuckled along with her.
