Harry’s POV

I was sitting in my room, my phone far, far away from me and Metallica blasting on my stereo, slightly hurting my ears. I felt footsteps pacing the corridor outside my room; it could either be my shit head of a father or my mother. I decided it was probably my shit head of a father, who pretended to care about my life but really just spent his fucking time drinking with his friends. Him and my mother pretended to have a good relationship, but I knew it was just tearing apart.

Someone came through my door, I heard, even though my eyes were closed.

“Harry? Are you okay?” Carter Styles asked.

(A/N: Christopher Meloni from Law and Order SVU plays Harry’s father – Carter Styles – yes I know it isn’t really his name but go with it ok.)

“As if you give a fuck,” I answered back, knowing it’ll test his patience. I kept my eyes closed and my stereo on the same volume.

He walked over to my bedside and switched my stereo off. I opened my eyes and glared at him.

“What, now you suddenly care? When my girlfriend dumps me and I choose to suffer in silence, you decide to finally care? Just leave me alone. Go drink your sorrows away,” I say, turning my eyes to the window, seeing two birds flutter on a branch outside.

I knew I had gone a bit too far, but I didn’t give two shits. He deserved it. The amount of times he’s cheated on my mum, the amount of times he walked out the door and then came back in. As if he’d care now.

Surprising me, he sat on the edge of my bed, patting my calf a few times before stopping. He looked at me and for the first time, I saw softness in his eyes and emotion come over. Ok, so maybe I’d been a bit too harsh. I decided to keep my mouth shut and let him talk.

“I heard what happened. I’m really sorry. But son, these things take time. You have to wait for her to forgive you, but in time, she will. If you two love each other, eventually, you’ll come back to each other. Trust me, I know this,” he explains, reliving the past unfortunate events.

“Does mom know about…. Your affairs?” I asked silently.

He swallowed and looked down at his feet, nodding solemnly. I sighed.

“Yet she chose to forgive me. I don’t deserve her forgiveness. But I know it’ll stop me from doing these things.”

“So what should I do? Should I call her?”

He shook his head no. “Give her time, son. She’s been through a lot. She still loves you, so she won’t let go so quickly.

“Okay. And I’m sorry.”

“Its okay, son,” he says, patting me on the shoulder and walking towards the door.

“Hey,” I said before he walked out the door. His head turned to me.

“Thanks,” I said, giving him a smile.

He nodded and smiled back, and walked out of my room.

I stood up and took my phone from my computer desk, checking to see if I had any text messages or calls, particularly from Jessica. I did have a missed call, and my heart lifted for one split second, until I realized it was just from Louis. I didn’t even bother to call him back; I just lay back down on my bed, and stared at the ceiling, waiting for what felt like eternity for Jess to call me back. I sighed and closed my eyes, falling into a deep sleep.

“I don’t want to be together anymore, Harry,” she says, averting my gaze. Her lips were pursed, like she was trying to stop herself from crying.
