Cleril: Where it all started

I had no friends, the only family I had was the bad guy, I was treated differently. Dragons would look at me and see a monster, Queen Scarlet's killing machine. Dragons would have hatred or fear sometimes both in their eyes as the stared at me, all the dragons except Clay. Everything changed when I met Clay, he treated me like another dragon, another normal dragon.

"Peril! You can change!" Clay had said to me.

"Can't you see? Even if I do change I can't escape her!" I had yelled back.

"We can start a new life, and I'll protect you from her!" Clay had sounded so confident and had the sparkle in his eyes, the sparkle she had loved.

"Then you'll get hurt in my place!"

"Peril, I'm not afraid of her and what she can do!"

"But I am Clay, I'm scared!"

Chaos had erupted around them as Queen Scarlet's once beautiful and menacing face was being disfigured due to Glory's venom. But even with the sounds of screaming and death the world seemed to freeze around Clay and I. I could look into his eyes and I knew that he wasn't lying, he really did believe that she could change. That the dragon that everyone feared, the dragon the was the monster that would burn people to death could change.
