Cold.
I shuffle through the forest that had been covered with a freshly thick blanket of icy snow. I wrapped my arms around myself rubbing them trying to keep warm.

As I kept walking the laughter that could be heard was fading as I got more farther away but I didn't care enough to turn around, just kept going forward. The sun was slowly fading in the horizon giving the sky a slight Burst of colors.

Getting Dark.
Just as it's colors fade the clouds seem to roll in like angry mobs leaving no trace of the once fluorescent and beautiful sky. I don't know how long I had been walk for or even where I am, and in any way I don't know why but I was to full of emotions to really even care.

-Crack!-
I stopped in my tracks and looked around. my eyes widen, thinking there was an unknown presence following me made chills run down my spine and it wasn't the snow or wind either

"Who's there?!" I called out a bit frightened by the silence that had suddenly surrounded me. "Nathaniel?... Mom!" I hollered, but found the situation a bit strange since I don't know a Nathaniel and my mom... She's been dead for sixteen years now or basically a year since I was born.

That's when some of the bushes on my left started rustling and the little bit of snow on them fell gracefully on the ground with the rest of their kind. As I looked up from the ground my eye met those of  a vibrant gold mixed along with cold steel grey surrounded by a fluffy head of pitch black fur.

Wolf
Fear struck me all the way to my core, I stumbled as I backed away trying to make as much distance between us as possible. A deep growl made its way to the throat of the wolf as it slowly emerged from its hiding spot already knowing I saw him.

Run.
To run was my fist instinct, nothing else. I ran in all directions swiftly and gracefully jumping over large rocks and old fallen trees as well as dodging stray branches from the trees, I had called out for 'Nathaniel' and my mother numerous time but All that could be heard was the heavy foot step of the beast tracking me down and mine desperately trying to get away.

Making turns left to right it felt as if the forest was never ending, as if I was a mouse in a maze experiment and the fact that it was coated with a blanket of pure white snow everywhere didn't really help.

I took this one turn which led me to a wide space and of a couple more steps was Cliff's edge and beyond it a sad depressing ocean view. I stopped and stared at the thin line beyond the ocean where the sky touches the earth, Mesmerized I slowly walked closer to the picture of dark grey coming in union with crystallizing blue which was just enough to take ones breathe away.
Beautiful.

The sound of crunching snow melting under pressure snapped me out of my trance and had me turning around to see if  IT had gotten any closer to finding me. It had cornered me and in either way it didn't look like I was going to make it out in one piece.

As it stalked its way towards me swig ting it position numerous times I took couscous steps backing up, to the point were I was so close to the Cliff's edge I could hear the crashing waves hit against the rocking bottom, I looked at the large dominant animal as it stood inches away from me.

I looked at the figures face and thought I saw a hint of sadness and confusion along with love and compassion all mixed in with a worried expression. Moments past as the beast looked through me no later did pictures of someone came to mind I couldn't make it out, but I had a deep sense of longing for this person.

Burning tears ran down my cheek warming them up but blurred my vision and as the wind picked up it blew on my tears making them lose their sense of warmth.

"Nathan..." I whispered the wind carrying my voice along with it as it blew by. Just then a gust of wind blew with great force blowing my hair in front of my face, robbing me of my sight. The wolf took this as an opportunity to lunge at me.

My mistake was in not ducking but in stead taking a single step back that I could never take back and would forever regret.

I fell over the Cliff's edge.
