Rain

(Yes I realize the picture^^ does not relate but I saw Matilda last weekend and wowie wow wow the set was amazing 10/10.)

Modern Day AU; John Laurens/Alexander Hamilton (sadly I don't think they have an official ship name)

John screamed as the rain started to pour on to his head. Alexander ran behind him trying to catch up.
It was mid summer in New York City and it was supposed to rain all week. They thought before it started to rain they would go enjoy the sun at Central Park.
John ran under a place shaded by a small roof. There were a couple benches. Alex soon followed after.
"There isn't even anyone here!" Alex laughed, out of breath.
"Well nobody is stupid enough as you to go out right before a storm" John said smiling, he took a seat on the bench and enjoyed the heavy rainfall around them.
He enjoyed the rain, it was calming. Alexander sat down on the bench next to him.
"Well, we should probably find an umbrella at some stand before we head back." He said, looking out at the heavy rain.
"I'll be back, I'm gonna go buy a cheap umbrella."
"Wait I'll go with you." retorted John standing up.
"You're gonna get soaked though!"
It was silent for a second.
"Oh! Just take this." He said handing him his coat.
"Alex, I really don't need this I'm fine."
"Yeah you do, now let's go!"
They looked around and tried to find a stand that would sell umbrellas.
John spotted one, he darted pulling Alex behind him in the thick rain. He shrieked and John laughed, tripping and falling in a puddle.
Alex stopped to pull up his boyfriend. He stood up, a little shaken.
"You okay?" Alex asked hoping he wasn't hurt.
John looked him in the eye. Within seconds Alex was covered in water. John had cupped his hands and gotten some water to throw in his face.
"IT'S ON!" Alex screamed bending down to scoop up some water, he tossed it at John who dodged it laughing. John came up behind his boyfriend pouring water on his head.
"Heeeeyyy, you messed up my hair." Alex said, a fake pout plastered on his face.
"Lemme fix it."
John pulled to rubber bands out of his pocket. Alex laughed,
"You seriously have rubber bands in your pocket?" Alex said.
John ignored the question putting Alexander's long hair into two ponytails. Alex twirled his finger around each pig tail and laughed.
"Thanks" he said, his eyes smiling.
John then realized that they were standing in pouring down rain, they were both soaking wet, and flirting badly.
John and Alex walked hand in hand to the closest stand.
The lady smiled at them.
"Can we have an umbrella please?"
The woman turned around digging through a box of things.
"Looks like we only have one, it's pretty small sorry guys. Do you still want it?"
Alex nodded. He pulled out five bucks from his pocket and handed it to the lady.
"Thanks" he said.
"Stay dry you two... Or at least get dry." The lady at the stand called as they skipped away.
John turned back and waved at her. Alex held the umbrella over John making sure the rain didn't hit him at all. John laughed.
"Such a gentleman." He said.
"No this is a gentleman." Alexander put his arm around his shoulder so his body was covering John's, protecting him from the rain.
John turned to him.
"I'm deeply in love with you." John whispered into his ear.
He could feel Alexander smile agains his ear.
"I know you are."
