Chapter Five

I WAS WALKING WITH DOMINIQUE toward the barrier to platform 9 3/4. She runs first, and then I follow. We heard owls hooting, cats purring, frogs croaking, ferrets squeaking, that is Albus' ferret.  Albus is Harry Potter's son, or one of them.  There's also James and Lily, who are his siblings.  We hang out with them sometimes, but there usually off with there own friends. When I'm with Dominique or one of my other friends, we sometimes go over to the Potter's to visit, which is nice.

It was nice to see  this all again. The train, the people who gather to see their children off to school, either for the first time or the 100th time. And of course, the actual children who leave for Hogwarts.

Our group came through in this one big mob thing, it felt like we were pushing through, but the people would move out of our way. Once we got to the car that held luggage, we put our things in and walked on the train. We found ourselves an empty car and got settled in. When you walk, in, I walked to the right and sat nearest to the window, Dominique next to me, then Roxanne next to her. On the other side, Teddy went near the window and Fred next to him. The four of them talked most of the way, but I just sat there and watched the scenery.

About an hour after we left, I had the feeling that I was going to be sick.

"Um... I'll be right back." I got up and Teddy grabbed my arm.

"Are you ok?"I nodded and he reluctantly let go. Thankfully, he didn't see that I was obviously lying about it. I walked out and headed toward the bathroom(or the loo as all the others call it) at the end of the carriage. I went in and lock the door. I leaned over the sink and looked in the mirror; my face was all red and it was blowing up like a pumpkin. I quickly got some water in my hands and splashed it on my face, but that didn't work. It kept getting bigger and bigger. I wanted to go out for help, without making a foul of myself by showing everyone. So I stayed for a little bit until there was a knock on the door.

"Is anyone in there?" Dominique. I quickly went to the door and said,

"Dominique, it's me."

"Oh Cora! I was so worried! Can I --" I opened the door slightly and pulled her in and shut it. When she saw my face, her mouth dropped right to the floor.

"Oh my god! What happened? We need to get you out of here and to Augusta, she'll know what to do! Oh, wait here." She went out and caught James(who is a third year) in the hallway and asked for the invisibility cloak and said it was an emergency. He reluctantly gave it to her and didn't ask any questions. She came back, put it over me, grabbed my hand, and we walked out.

We got to Augusta's car and we closed the door and made blinds on the windows so no one could see. Once it was done, I took off the cloak and Augusta gasped and covered her mouth.

"What happened?" She layed me on one of the seats and takes a look.

"I felt kind of sick all of a sudden and went to the bathroom to see my head becoming a BLOODY PUMPKIN!" I was so stressed. What if she can't help? What if I have to stay like this till we get to school and to the hospital? What if... just kept going through my head.

"It's alright," she sensed my stress, obviously, "I don't know why it happened, or what caused it, but I can certainly fix it. So seeing that your head has blown up, that means it was most likely a air-borne substance. So it might have been a spell or just a virus. So I will give you this," she reached into her bag and pulled out a vile with black liquid in it, "to make your head swell back down and this," she pulls another one out, but this time it's blue, "To calm whatever is inside you or has been put on you." She handed me the black vile first and I drank some of it. I felt my head stop throbbing and go back to it's normal size. Then, she gave me the blue one, and I drank some of it too. I didn't feel much different but she said it should just take a few hours to get through the body.

We thanked her and headed back to our car. We stopped right before it and Dominique said,

"I'm going to take this back to James, and you just go ahead inside and rest, I'll be back soon." I nodded and went inside. When I did, Teddy was the first to jump up and hug me. The others followed. We all broke apart and Teddy said,

"Are you ok? I was worried sick! We all were." They all nodded and I smiled.

"I'm ok, I just need to rest a little before I'm back to my normal self!" He nodded and sat me down in my spot. I smiled and he smiled back and I closed my eyes. I fell right to sleep without a thought.

(a few hours later)

I woke up and saw all my friends were all deep in conversation. I rubbed my eyes and stretched out a little. Roxanne notices me first and said,

"Oh, you're awake! How are you feeling?"

"Oh, just terrific!" I replied with a hint of sarcasm. Fred snickered, and Teddy elbowed him in the side. I slightly smiled and said,

"I'm just...still not feeling 100%, ya know?" They all nodded. Dominique looked at Teddy's watch.

"Oh, look at the time, we'll be there soon, in a couple of hours. We should all get our robes on."

"Yep! She's right!" We got our robes and got changed. When I was done, I walked into what looked like a first year. She had blonde hair and had her Hogwarts robe on. She had a cute smile plastered on her face, which was odd.

"Oh, I'm so sorry! Are you ok?" She nodded and said,

"I'm fine! It was my fault actually, I wasn't watching where I was going." She had a CUTE British accent(as they all do).

"Me neither!" She giggled.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Oh, I'm Uratha, Uratha Cop. I'm the first of my family to be magical!" She twirled around and giggled. I giggled too! I replied,

"That's a beautiful name! I'm Cora Summons. So, you are a first year I suppose?" She nodded. "Well, I was the first of my family too! You will absolutely love being magical, it's the best!" She smiled.

"You're not from here are you?" I shook my head. "Where are you from?"

"I am from the United States. It's the country across the Ocean." She nods.

"I know! That's cool! What house are you in?"

"I'm in Hufflepuff. What would you like to get into?" She shrugged.

"I don't know. But I know that I DON'T want to be in Slytherin. I've heard stories about it being bad and having bad people. Maybe I'll get Hufflepuff!"

"Maybe, yeah! Well, I can't wait to see you get sorted later tonight! Do you need help to get back to your car?"

"No, I know where to go. It was nice to meet you, Cora. Can we be friends?"

"Sure we can! It was nice to meet you too, Uratha. See you later!" We waved goodbye and headed our ways. When I was at my car, It was just Teddy there. I walked in and sat across from him. He saw me and smiled.

"Hey Cora! Wow, seems just like yesterday we had these on for the last day last year."

"Yeah, I can't wait for this year, I'm so excited! But it is our last year, and that makes me kind of sad. It's the last time we'll be on the train back to school. EVER!" He nodded.

"I know, but, hey! We'll make it the best year yet, yeah?" I nodded too.

"Yeah." We both smiled and the others came back in one big group. We all got talking about the feast and our classes and other things. That kept us occupied for the rest of the ride to our home. Hogwarts.
