Chapter Six

WE ARRIVED AT HOGWARTS at about 6 PM. It was dark out and very foggy. The five of us got our stuff from above the seats, got off the train, and walked to the carriages. The first years headed to the lake with Hagrid to get on the boats. All five of us shared one carriage and once we were all in, the carriage started off on the windy road toward the castle.

Teddy once told us that his godfather said that there were these things called Thestrals, and they could only be seen by people who have seen death, and since none of us have, we have no clue what they look like or know how big they were.

It took us about 10 minutes to get to the castle. When we arrived, we got out and walked up the stairs and went to sit in the Great Hall. Since we were in different houses, we all said goodbye to each other and would meet in the Room of Requirement after dinner. Roxanne and I head to the Hufflepuff table, Dominique to the Ravenclaw table, and the boys head to Gryffindor.

Roxanne and I sit next to Augusta Longbottom and Parker Finch-Fletchy and their friends. I turned to Roxanne and told her about the little girl I met on the train.

"Awww!!! She sounds so cute!!! I hope she gets into Hufflepuff!" I nod.

"Me too, I want to help her because she was just like me when I started here. I want to be here for her, and she would be an awesome little friend to have in our house!" Roxanne nodded. She was about to say something when Professor McGonagall(who is also headmistress) came up and began the sorting ceremony.

"When I call your name, you come and sit on the stool. I will place the sorting hat on your head, and you will be sorted into your house. Cop, Uratha." She slowly walked up there. I could tell she was nervous, her expression said oh god oh god oh god oh god help me. She sat onto the stool and the hat was placed on her head.

"Hmmm... Let's see. Bravery, but you are also really loyal, let's go with... HUFFLEPUFF!" (You guys saw it coming, didn't you?) I stood up clapping and hollering for her. She ran down with a smile plastered on her face, and sat right next to me. I hugged her and the three of us talked all through the rest of the ceremony. Then when it was time for the feast, McGonagall raised her hands and all the food appeared in front of us. Uratha's mouth opened wide and she mouthed Woah to me and I nodded.

We ate the feast until our stomachs couldn't fit anything else. At the end, everyone except first years got to go to the common rooms and dormitories. Roxanne and I got up from the table, said goodbye to Uratha, and walk out of the Great Hall. We hid behind the statue of Godric Gryffindor to make sure no one saw us. Then, we scurried from the statue that hid us and ran for the Room of Requirement.

When we got to the blank brick wall, I stood in front of it and thought, Can I go in to see my friends? After a second, an iron door slowly appeared on the wall and I stepped closer and pushed it open with my hands. Dominique, Fred and Teddy were already there. We all gathered at the square table and sat down. I could tell Teddy was acting a bit odd, but I let it slide for now.

(I'm sorry, I'm being lazy right now, so a little time skip)

It was almost 11 o'clock and we are supposed to be in bed by 11:30, so we decided to head out.

During that time, we talked and sat around. I was honestly still on edge from what had happened on the train, anything sweets related that the boys had, I rejected. They looked a little skeptical, especially when I rejected my favorite candy, chocolate frogs.

I remembered Teddy was a bit odd earlier, so I decided to go up to him and ask him. I stopped him at the door, just as we were about to exit.

"Hey Ted, are you alright? You seemed a bit odd earlier, and I wanted to make sure you are alright." He looked up at me and nodded, giving me a slight smile and that face I knew that he wasn't fine but didn't want talk about. Then I remembered that there was something about his summer vacation he was going to tell me, but never did. He started to walk when I stepped in front of him.

"Edward Remus Lupin! I'm your best friend, I know there is something wrong! Now we can do this the easy way or the hard way. Take your pick." I demanded. Teddy sighed and took the easy route. We walked a little ways from the room so we would still make it in time for the curfew, but who cares.

"Fine... this summer I've been getting these letters." Teddy stammered. "Letters of my parents will. And there are many things I own... For example; a house, my own account in Gringotts bank, a bunch of other nick-nacks and something called a Thiesbners." *friend made that up*

"A The-sin-ber?" I questioned.

"Yeah, or something like that, but apparently it's important," Teddy stated. "There is also something I found out this summer...something that is about me." He stops to think. "I'm half... half werewolf. Harry never told me, he probably never even thought to mention it." I almost tripped on my own feet after hearing that.

I was astonished, I never would have thought that he was half werewolf. It didn't scare me though, none of it did. We all knew he was Metamorphmagus, like his mum, and he would change his hair sometimes and change his face to scare people. But a werewolf, wow.

We were past the Great Hall, heading to the Hufflepuff door when I finally commented.

"I'm sorry Harry didn't tell you. I would tell my godchild when they reached their 1st year at Hogwarts. There hasn't been any signs about it, have there? Like any permanent wolf faces or clawes showing up out of the blue?" He looked over at me and chuckled. I smiled, i was glad i made him laugh when he was upset.

"No, there haven't been. Well, maybe..." I jogged a little to keep up with his pace, since he is at least a foot taller than me. I gave him my "what is it?" face and he told me.

"I do have dreams, once or twice a year, where I am a wolf, well, werewolf. And I go through forests and neighborhoods, just running. I've been having them since I was 9." That made me think.

"What if we can test to see if they aren't dreams? What if it's real?" He stopped and had a frown, as if he were thinking hard. I stopped a foot or two ahead of him, staring at him. We stood for a good 5 minutes, when he finally talked.

"Yeah, they do seem more real than like a dream." We were at the door to my common room. He grabbed my shoulders and spun me around to look at him face-to-face. The look in his green eyes were kind of scary.

"You, Cora Elizabeth Summons, have to solemnly swear, that you will not tell another soul what I have told you tonight. I haven't even told the rest of the group any of it. I don't want ANYONE to know. Swear?" I swallowed and nodded.

"Of course I won't!" He skeptically looks at me. "Okay. I solemnly swear that I will not tell another soul what you said to me." He nodded and we did our handshake. (It's secret, we can't share that).

He waved goodbye to me as I walked through the door, and I waved back. Once it closed, I came face-to-face with Roxanne.

"What kept you from being here 20 minutes later than when I came in?" I laughed at her and she stomped her foot to tell me she had done her waiting.

"Teddy and I were talking, that all. Ok? Now if you don't mind, Ms. Bossypants, I'm going to get my beauty rest." I flipped my hair in her face and had a smile on my face. I heard her mumble "Rest for what beauty?" And I grabbed my wand and wiped around and dosed her with water, then ran up to our dormitory to hide from the monster right behind me.
