Chapter 7: Adventures in the Malone House

This seventh chapter is when there's so much going around the Malone house a couple months after Roddy and Rita moved into their apartment. First Rita's dad finally gets out of his wheelchair for the first time since his big injury ten months ago, then her mom is now two months pregnant with her second set of twins, spring cleaning has came around, Rita's stuck take care of Rhys and Sofia's identical twin daughters, much to Maudy's jealousy, and Roddy and one of Rita's sisters have to help find another way to fix Rita's old dress her mother made for her back when she was thirteen that they accidentally destroy. Also Roddy has his first dentist appointment to get his wisdom teeth removed. Also, later on at the end, Rita gives Roddy a birthday present both of them didn't expect.

The sun shined at the Malone house on an early morning May. "Alright, Malone clan, time to get up and come downstairs for a family meeting!" Rita's mother called out while all the Malone kids ran down the stairs until they made it to the living room. Roddy and Rita have been at the house an hour early, joined in with the clan in front of Rita's parents.

"Alright, gather around, clan. We have a bunch of surprises to tell you all of what's going on today." Rita's dad said.

"Oh, boy, I know where this is headed to." Rita said, quietly to Roddy.

"What?" He asked.

"You'll find out in a second."

"So we'll start off what your mother has to say. I bet you all know what's going on." Mr. Malone said.

"I just found out I'm two months pregnant." Mrs. Malone said.

"Of course." Roddy said, rolling his eyes.

"Yep. Now here comes the part of how many we're having this time." Rita said.

"We're having twins!" Mrs. Malone said.

"Oh, yay, twins. Such joy." All the Malone kids, Roddy, and Rita all said, faking their cheering. Rita turned back to Roddy.

"Yeah, mum gets these over emotional mood swings that go on for days and, sometimes, weeks. So we have to act like we're excited about it. It happens both on her first trimester of pregnancy and during postpartum shortly after pregnancy." She said.

"Oh, I see. Twins, again?" Roddy asked.

"Yep." Rita said.

"Well, since you have 38, you'll soon have 40 siblings and counting."

"Yep, that's my mum: The Baby Maker." Rita said.

"That's true."

"Anyway, there's also another surprise from your father." Mrs. Malone said.

"I am finally getting off my wheelchair for the first time in ten months since my accident." Mr. Malone said.

"And he will be learning to stand up and walk, again, to get back in shape."

"Since I've been stiff the whole time I was recovering."

"Yay! Finally!" All the Malone kids along with Roddy and Rita all said, seriously cheerfully.

"Yeah, exciting, isn't it? Except my foot is still recovering for at least another three months. So I'll be walking with a cane for a while until it's all better."

"Oh." The kids all said, losing their enthusiasm.

"Aww, man, I hope daddy can still play monkey's jungle gym with us." Ginger said.

"So do we." All the youngest Malone kids agreed.

"Don't worry, my little monkeys, daddy will still be your jungle gym while recovering his foot as long as you're careful." Mr. Malone chuckled.
