Over the next few days I slowly stopped feeling dizzy, although Fred was still worried sick about me, I could tell. George cornerd me about it a week after Madame Pomfrey let me out of the Hospital Wing.
"Hermione."
"George?" I croaked. My voice was still really quiet.
"Hermione. Look. What is going in between you and Fred?" he said, clearly he had been holding this back for a while.
"Nothing. Honest, George, I... Nothing." I stammerd, on the edge of telling him. George didn't look convinced, but seeing how I looked at the floor, he just nodded.
"Alright. Hey, Hermione?" he added as he was about to walk out.
"Yes, George?"
"I didn't mean to accuse you of anything. It's just... Fred seems really worried about you. Probably nothing, but... He's a part of me, and I can tell that something is wrong." he then walked out. I felt bad, not telling him, but I had a really big pile of homework to do. Madame Pomfrey had told me not to strain my eyes, but I had to keep up to date with my studies, so I grabbed a quill and some ink. I was about to begin my Charms essay, when someone interupted my thoughts.
"You shouldn't be doing that, you know. Especially in the dark." I almost screamed. "Oh, sorry, Hermione. I didn't mean to scare you." Fred swiftly came and sat down next to me, and plucked my quill from my hand. I smiled slightly.
"Thank you." I whisperd. He just nodded.
"Now, you should get some sleep. You're back in class tomorrow, right? Oh, and you have permission from McGonagoll to choose a lesson to rest." the corners of his mouth twitched into a smile, as he said this. I nodded, already having chosen the class.
"Defence Against the Dark Arts." I confirmed, causing Fred to laugh.
"Don't blame you, Granger. Me and George renamed her classes 'Skip this, and you face the Toad'." he chuckled. I laughed, and then dissolved into a coughing fit. Fred patted my back, and he told me every prank he had pulled whilst I had been gone. I was laughing until I lost my voice. I attempted to tell Fred something, but a small rasping breath came out instead. He laughed slightly. I fell asleep after a while, with my head on Fred's shoulder. Before I fell asleep, however I heard Fred mutter.
"I love you, Hermione. I hope you know that."
