For the next two hours, Hermione sat on the comfy chair by the fire pondering about what George said.
"Maybe that's what he likes about you."
"Yeah right." She snorted, ripping a page out of her journal and throwing it into the fire. She sighed and decided to write a letter to... No. She couldn't tell her parents. Hagrid! She could talk to him for sure.
So Hermione grabbed her satchel and ran down to the half giant's hut. She rapped on the door and waited for a reply.
"Hello? Oh 'ermione! I haven't heard from you in a while! Harry and Ron where just down here." Hagrid beamed. Hermione didn't have the heart to tell him they fell out.
"Oh, I was in the library,I told them to go ahead." She lied with a smile. "Anyway, I wanted to ask you something." Hagrid incited Hermione inside and she blurted out everything. From how Fred stood up for her, to the parts she couldn't even admit to herself. Hagrid chuckled at the end.
"Why do yeh need advice then?" He asked.
"Because... Because he couldn't ever like me." She admitted shyly.
"Yer joking? No. Oh, we Hermione have you asked him?" Hagrid asked, biting down on a rock cake. Unsuccessfully.
"I'd be the laughing stock of the school." Hermione sighed as Hagrid spat out a tooth. "But I asked George." She added.
"What did 'e say?"
Hermione told him and a smile grew upon Hagrid's bearded face. "Off yer pop. You've got things to do." He grinned, shoving her out of his hut. Hermione frowned but made her way back up to the castle anyway.
