Kate's POV

The audition is today.

I'm going to fail and be the failiest fail that ever existed. I just need to calm down, make sure I remember my text and also attempt not to pass out on the spot. Times like this call for desperate measures. That desperate measure being Slow Kids At Play. Yes that's Dylan's band, but they are just so good are they really help me calm down. Slipping my earphones in my ears, Step into Your Roots starts playing. They have this reggae vibe about them with punk kind of in the mix. Reggae-Punk I guess, but is that even a thing? I don't even know.

The drummer himself is currently sat next to me, also trying to calm me down as I wait anxiously in the reception for my name to be called. This must all seem so stupid to him, I mean he's done this a million times. I guess there will be a few people waiting here feeling exactly the same as me, for some of them this will be their first audition. My knee is bobbing up and down in anticipation of this freaking audition. This moment has been in my dreams since I was little, but the thing is in those dreams I always got the part.

"How you hanging in there?" Asked Dylan.

"So well, I have a feeling this is going to go just great!" I replied with a heavy load of sarcasm in my voice.

"Don't say that, stop doubting yourself. Take a chance on faith, not hope, faith I don't believe in hope... You are ready and able to do beautiful things in this world"

"Did you just quote a Jim Carrey speech to me?"

"Yes I did" he said with a proud smile on his face. This smile is the sort of goofy smile that brightens up your day and makes you laugh at the same time.

I burst out laughing, and my laugh is not quiet at all. My head threw itself back laughing with a little snort or two slipping in there as well. Everyone's eyes turned towards me I buried my face in Dylan's neck in a failed attempt to brush off the embarrassment.

"Kate Wood"

That was my name. Time to go and audition, it felt as though my nerves were going to come and swallow my up and Kate Wood would be no more.

"Have faith, not hope. I have faith in you. You are ready and able to do beautiful things in this world Kate" said Dylan quoting Jim Carrey yet again.

"Stop quoting Jim Carrey to me. And I'm going to die okay, let's just have faith that I don't die" I replied imitating his trademark wink.

I followed the woman into the audition room and I was instantly calmed as I saw a familiar face staring back at me. Jeff Davis. I knew him from the set of Teen Wolf from when Dylan was filming and I was watching him do what he loves. Jeff was always nice to me when I was hanging out on set and it put me at ease knowing he was doing the casting.

This is it I guess.

"Can you do the first scene for me please" said Jeff.

I'm guessing this was because Scarlet had a big speech in this part. So I did exactly what Jeff said and I took it away.

That was it the audition was over, thank god for that. I honestly have no idea what I was so scared and nervous about, in my opinion it went quite well.

Dylan was sat in the waiting room waiting rather impatiently for me to finish my audition. As soon as he saw me he practically flew up out of his seat.

"How did it go? Did you forget your lines? Did you do well? Was it bad? Were you a nervous wreck? Did you-" I cut him off.

"It went well, I didn't forget my lines, I don't know if I did well, it wasn't bad, I wasn't a nervous wreck and I honestly don't know what I was so scared of"

"Thank god for that"

He pulled me in to his chest in a tight embrace, so tight I thought I would stop breathing because he basically crushed my lungs.

"Excuse me everybody" announced the lady who led me into the audition room. "If everyone could please be quiet I have an announcement" she continued.

"We have come to a decision, a very hard one, as to who will portray Scarlet"

I was practically on tenterhooks and I'm pretty sure Dylan was too. He leaned forward in his seat in anticipation.

"Is there a Kate Wood here?"

I stood up in my seat and said "yes I'm here"

"Well congratulations you have been chosen to portray Scarlet" she beamed.

"WOO WAHOOOOAOO" screamed Dylan waving his arms around randomly in the air like he'd just won the lottery.

"Shhhh Dylan" I replied giggling.

"If you would just like to follow me" the lady told me. "And yes, Dylan, you can come too" she told him.

We followed her into a room filled with numerous other people, the cast and crew I guess. Jeff was there too.

"Well, you already know Dylan. You might even know some of the other members of the cast, as they were on Teen Wolf" she said.

We followed her over to a group of people, most of them looked familiar to me.

"Kate, this is Dylan, Holland, Crystal, Tyler, Tyler, Colton, Shelley, Arden, Jennifer, Cody, Liam, Ki Hong and Thomas" she said gesturing to the group of people in front of me. Lucky for me I knew every single of them, apart from Liam, because of being on set in Dylan's movies.

"Hey guys, I'm Kate, most of you already know me, but for the one person that doesn't I'm Kate, once again" I said giggling and slightly embarrassed.

"Now if you don't mind I'm going to steal her away from you because I need to talk to Kate" said Dylan taking my hand and leading me out into this small room across the hallway.

"Dylan what are you doing?"

"I'm so proud of you, what did I tell you? I told you that you'd get the part"

"You pulled me into a room away from everyone else to tell me that you're proud of me?" I replied quizzically.

"Not exactly..." He said trailing off.

"Spit it out Dylan"

"There's something I need to tell you, and I should have done it way, way sooner"

A/N so I'm sorry for not updating in a while, I have had revision for exams and I have to catch up on my coursework. I'm sorry that I didn't update sooner, so please accept my apology and this longer than usual chapter.                                 -K
