Dan smiled with triumph, then looked up. She immediately froze and her expression changed to fear and wonder. The human had a surprised face, and then reached his hand down. Dan noticed her had a blue hand, what? And it was rubbery, disgusting humans (it's funny because you guys reading are humans. Me? No, I'm and Oliviain, born of the powers of shape shifting into any story book Character that it mine. Cool right? Better book than Twilight. ANYWAY). Dan was lifted up by the scruff of her neck and the human put on another blue hand, then weird, see-through goggles. He proceeded to poke and pull at Dan, Dan making swiftly attempts to scratch and bite at the human; who smelled funny. Then, the human took out a sharp, tiny needle and Dan stared in fear at it. He then stabbed Dan and pushed something attached to it. Then, in a few moments, everything went black.

Gosh darn! Not again!

Dan woke up slowly in a weird smelling (plastic smell, ew), grey, metal bottomed container. Dan stared at the floor of the container, a hazy reflection of Dan was seen and Dan took a deep breath. She was, once again, in an unknown place with unknown escapes and weird smelling place. Dan noticed the front of the box had five, semi-large holes. It was the only transparent thing there. Dan carefully inched toward it and touched it. She sheathed her claws and them heard a screeching noise. She quickly retracted and shook her paw. "Hey!" said a tough, mean, and irritated voice. "be quiet!" Dan was too scared and confused to speak, she just managed out a small peep.

She heard some laughing, and the Dan cleared her throat. "Who's, T-there?" There was a quick silence. "Look, your in the rumble, kid." Said another voice. "Pound, Enclosure, Compound, Yard, corral. You name it, we're in it." Another, different voice said. "I, I don't get it." Dan said confused. "Comm'on guys, stop torturing the little thing." said another voice, more calm and motherly. "She's a black cat, she's probably here cause people think she's unlucky." Dan winced at that, but it wasn't the real reason. "Well, she's defiantly not a stray. But she's not a house cat." One of the voices said. "Then what is she-" The next voice was cut off by a creeping noise. "Employee's coming." one said and they all shut up. Dan watched as the guard skimmed past all the others, which Dan could now make out. The first voice was to Dan's right, the second voice was in front of her, the kind voice was in front of her to the right a bit and the last voice was to her left.

"A couple family's are coming today." the guard said, Dan snapping to his attention. "be your best behavior." The guard did on last scan of everyone then left. When he left, it seemed all most everyone let out a huff of air. Dan yawned and then listened to the rest begin talking again. It was... entertaining; I guess. "So," the calm voice said and came out of the shadows, revealing a dark brown tabby she-cat. Her eyes shined a beautiful yellow. "What is your name, little one?" "Uh, Dande-" Dan cut herself of. "Dan." The she-cat gave her a look, but then proceeded. "Well, Dan, my name's Sharlene." The name sounded fancy, and it made it sound fancier the way she said it; Dan nodded. "Nice name." "Thank you." There was a silence among the group. "Well, new comer." the person to the right said. "My name's Wilfred, Will for short." Dan tried to see what Will looked like, but couldn't see.

"My name's George." Said the voice on front of her. The voice emerged and appeared to be a small dog, a little bigger than a full grown cat; his fur was gray. "My name's Hank, Nice to meet you Dan." Said the voice left to Dan, again invisible to her. Dan smiled and laid down, seeing everyone was comforting. "So, how did you get here?" Will asked. Dan's smile faded, but she told everyone what she remembered and what happened. "So, you aren't from here?" Sharlene asked. "Well, I don't know. Maybe I came from another city." Dan suggested. George shook his head. "Unlikely, no other's city's sewer's lead here. In fact, it's the opposite." Dan was confused more than ever now. "Well, than, where did I come from?" Dan asked and everyone looked at each other. They shrugged.

Dan sighed and laid down. "Sorry, kid." Will said but Dan ignored him. Dan laid her head down on her paws. "For now, you should rest." Hank said and Sharlene nodded. "Yah', sometimes some families have little kits of their own." She shivered. "They're absolutely obnoxious." Dan took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She was afraid if she opened them, she would be stuck in the same place. This must be a dream, Dan thought, I want this madness to end. Dan opened her eyes, in the same place. Same cats and dogs, same everything. Dan turned her back to everyone and looked down at the floor. Her eyes teared up, but she did not cry. Dan closed her eyed, a single tear escaping, and Dan fell asleep.

Dan woke up from her nap to the creek of the door to the cages. "Right this way, we have dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes." A guard said and let five humans pass by him. Three, sadly, were these 'Human kits' that Sharlene warned Dan about. The humans spread out, each kit going to different animals. One, heading toward Dan. "Look at this one ma!" It nearly shouted. Dan flinched and raised her back in an arch. The kit winced and continued on. Dan let her back lay down, but her fur still prickled. "Why'd you do that, Dan?" George said, a kit leaving him. "Do what?" Dan asked. "That! You scared your human away!" Dan was very confused. George sighed frustrated, "The only way out of here is to get adopted, trust me." Dan opened her mouth to say something, but then recoiled.

She could see it. So, she needed to get adopted. Or, what happens next...
